View Full Version : Is this true?

09-22-2003, 08:32 AM
I've read some articles, they said Buddhism used to be widespread in Uzbekistan.
Is this true? But why did people change their religion to Islam?
I know there are some ancient Buddha images in Afghanistan, which is an Islamic country, and they were destroyed by a group of people. what about in Uzbekistan?
and are there any Buddhists in Uzbekistan right now?
Could any of you be kind enough to clarify me?

Thank you
