What does "radikulit" mean?

Dear all

Can anyone help? I read an uzbek text, but I could not understand the word "radikulit". I coud not find in a dictionary either. What does "RADIKULIT" mean? Thanks!

it is illness. lower back-pain. symptoms: can't move, stand, sit...

Here is what I know about it. BTW this is not a scientific opinion: :)

causes: some say that human backbone is too weak for two legged movements, i.e. walking straight up. therefore the backbone gets damages which causes this illness.

the only species that have/had radiculitis are humans and sabre-toothed tigers that lived LONG time ago (Саблезубые тигры). humans have it because they use two legs to walk while other vertebrata (позвоночные) use four legs.

The sabre-toothed tigers had it bacause that had to lean back to stick their teeth into its pray, thus putting enormous pressure on their backbones. :)

Radiculitis is a Latin term used in medical literature.

The human medulla spinalis (the lower extension of the central nervous system which passes through the vertebrate spinal canal) gives roots of the peripheral nerves. These nerves converge and divide into different branches. Thus these are named root, radix, trunk, etc according to their anatomic positions. If the radix portions of the peripheral nerves are by some means hurt, this is called radiculitis - the inflammation of radices.

Anatomically the radices are located distally to the roots, are out of the spinal canal. However, they are still too close to the bony spines and are frequently affected by mechanical troubles.

But radiculitis is a nonspecific term. Does not imply a specific disease.
