Ironically, just as a youth is inclined towards rebellion and sins, and is caught up in lustful desires, at the same time he experiences a strong God-Seeking urge in himself. Although in youth, all emotions are new and active, as soon as he reaches adulthood, his sense of religiousness awakens, since every youth is bestowed with a divine innate nature.

When a teenager is nearing adolescence, and adulthood, along with the growth of his physical strength, the seeds of faith and conscience begin to sprout in him and his inborn urge of faith and morality are strongly awakened. Studies show that the urge for religiousness begins at the age of 12 and in normal healthy people, faith in eternal truth and the urge to worship are strengthened as they grow up.

Regarding the above mentioned should our teenagers be very religious or not?

I think Youth is just underestimating power of Allah (c.c.) or not getting it at all. From one side, you cannot blame only youth themselves. What about parents?...Who didn't teach them what they were suppose to know, who didn't tell them the mighty truth about their religion, Islam?! It would change a lot if we, youth, could get to know Islam in our early ages, that basic information we could put our lives on and get older with.

Getting older means collecting more knowledge from whatever surrounds us. Knowledge leads to prosperity. Prosperity is a matter that makes our lives better and our hearts more open to kindness. Let's pray to Allah and ask him to bring the best knowledge of our religion to our ignorant minds.

:salam: sister Smlk,

yes, I do agree with you on your statement that parents, too, have much to do with religious upbringing of their children. Yet on the other hand, we shouldn't forget that they - our parents and their parents - lived most of their lives under 'dahriy' Soviets.

I met an old man yesterday, who rejected any kind of religion and stood his ground claiming that sOcialism (he kept stressing O) is the best system/regime ever! He said that the problem of Islam remained in its very core - Saudi Arabiya. Now, I do know that none is perfect and if Saudis have problems, hey, doesn't everyone else, us included, have problems? I mean he wanted to see a flaw, and he saw it!

Anyway, I still agree with you that our "youth might be underestimating Allah swt's force and might, or they just don't get it". Let's pray to Allah and ask him to bring the best knowledge of our religion to our ignorant minds. amin!
