I think it is important to inform an audience the way how our goverment delivers speeches and historians write books.
I've read a paper this week and it talks about how Soviet Union applied "Direct Lie" and "Blank Pages" methods in rewriting Soviet History. I believe Uzbekistan condition is no way is different from that in Soviet Union.
What is says about these two methods:
1. The Direct Lie: asserts that some event took place at a certain time whereas in reality such events either did not take place at that time or did not take place at all.
2. The Blank Pages method, on the othe hand, does not make outright false statements but rather selects only certain facts to create an overall distorted picture.
Just let us look at economic indicators, they look better than a capitalist world. But it is said when it comes to "how are these data generated." In real life it is 180 degree other way round. They talk about good things that happened recently, however, they don't talk about what they did in reality.
I thought it would benefit us to remember these two methods when we watch TV, read newspapers, and share info.
