It is a populist move from Putin & co and no more.

This kind of live shows are designed to create image "father of the nation " for Putin. It reminds stories of some arabic leaders talking to the nation and playing the role of people-loving leader.

If Putin thinks about people is very doubtfull, just the way the former KGB agent became the president, having zero popularity among the nation before election campaign, (in fact popularity was gained thanks to the chechen war - through demonisation of entire nation of chechens) and how he reacted Kursk's disaster are food for thoughts.




before following any ideas like a sheep (bee bee beee) it would be interesting to inquiry about aims of this kinda moves, to find out some bacground information on personality etc.
