Interesting, huh?

Are there any uzbek/uzbeks, no matter when/where/how, who got nobel Prize?

What do you think, what is the condition of the science currently in Uzbekistan comparing to USSR, US, other CIS countries(currently). what should be done, so that uzbeks could also win Nobel Prize? Discuss it.

P.S. Does anybody have an access to the premium context of this news? share with us.

What I know is, school of chemistry at the university of bristol, that is where I study, has more equipment than whole Uzbekistan.
There were two professors visiting us 3 years ago, they were amazed.
I don't think the nobel prize should be the objective, you can do a lot more but not get any prize in this life.

I dont think that Uzbek people will get it in near future.
It's like dreaming that Uzbekistam National team will go to WC 2006 in Germany and win the World Cup. It's the same thing wit Nobel Prize.
P.S If "someone" will leave the country - maybe they will award him "za miloserdie i mujestvo" ....
Peace ,

One of Uzbekistan's most prominent businesswomen might seem like an unlikely recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. But Dildora Alimbekova is among those on a long list of women nominated for the prestigious award under an international project called "1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize." She has so far made a successful career of beating the odds -- including pioneering the private business sector under Soviet-era perestroika. So who is to say the Nobel Prize is out of reach? As the world celebrates International Women's Day, RFE/RL profiles one of Uzbekistan's leading female voices.
