I know that you are in cardiff, which is nearer to where I live, bristol.
But at the moment I am working in gloucester, weekend part-time job.
The company I used to work for had to close its store in bristol, so we are opening a new one in gloucester next week.
I was just wondering if there were people, and we could meet there.
BTW did you learn welsh there, i visited cardiff once, never expected welsh to be totally different language to english?

Hello
I will write very briefly about the situation around here,
if you take your own car, or a bus you will have to take M4 till bristol then M5 to south. when the weather is good the M5 is just packed after its junction with M4, because too many people want to go south and most of them are with caravans, so very slow traffic.
I would take train but i don't have any experience going by train to south.
you can also take some A roads off M3 from basingstoke, but taking A road might take ages to to get there, and even worse if it is not dual carriageway.
hope this info will help you to plan your journey.

Hamid - many thanks for this! Sounds like train might be a more sensible option - I don't take traffic very well. On the other hand - 5 hours on a bloody train..!

it will take you two hours to bristol on the car, then might take another 2 to get to cornwall, so it does not make much difference.
I don't advice coach as it takes more, and if the traffic is bad you are jsut stuck on the road, with own car you can get off the motorway and take soem by routes.
If you need more info let me know, I will try to ask my friends who visited cornwall about their experiences,

and if the train is good it is worth, you would not realise how time passes.
e.g. had to take train to gloucester this sunday, going there was on a virgin trains, 40 mins passed very quckly, it was very comfortable train, coming back the service was provided by wessex trains, awful, a lot of noise, not much of comfort, gained headache.
