I made this thread sticky , and lets post all scholarship for international students and discusss it
Queen thanks ,
Peace ,
Almost all international graduate students applying unomaha.edu get non-resident scholarship for the whole period of study. you pay only 130 per credit and some fees. If you get scholarship from international ofice as in my case you will actually get 1000 cash because scholarship will exceed your tuition.

Hi!
yeah good idea Prince. Important topic.
Razorback, I found there is a new scholarship for ungergrads as well in Omaha uni. But, what's the difference between new international student scholarships and non residental scholarship? How is this Nebrasak Univeristy? How is Life in there? How is bio major considered in there? appreciate your response.

They give international scholarship only for one year. Non-resident scholarship presented by departments for the whole duration of education and is only for international graduate students who go to Business, Engineering, Computer Science and several others. Undergrads in order to reduce their tuition go to community colleges and then transfer all their credits to UNO or UNL. UNL is in top 100 as far as I know. Omaha University is also not bad. The city is absolutely nice and people are very friendly.
Sorry but don't know anyhing about bio majors.

Queen, what exactly are you studing, for example if its biotechnology from this year on UNO/jointly with Peter Kiewit Institute are opening up a very interesting major on biotechnologies (i think for now it's only for ugrads), also UNMC (MEdical Center) has an interesting program for biology majors in the field of healthcare/pharmacy research. i think with bio major you'd definitely be able to get almost full tuition coverage and even some monthly stipend or smth. You know, anything related with science is very much applauded/supported by many US schools so you should shoot for the stars :)

Hi Queen,
Yes, it's indeed for women only, and there is another great opportunity for female students seeking grad and PhD degrees through American Association of University Women, use the link below. The fellowship year is closed for this year, but for 2006-07 i think the deadline is till Dec 31, 2005. They require a lot of paper work just like applying for Muskie scholarship, so if considering this, you better off get an early start with prep work.

I hate to say this, but due to your major you may be a subject for deportation in accordance to INA section 212 (a)(3)(a), which renders inadmissible aliens who there is reason to believe are seeking to enter the U.S. to violate U.S. laws prohibiting the export of goods, technology or sensitive information from the U.S.
F. CHEMICAL, BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING: The technology used to produce chemical and biological weapons is inherently dual-use. The same technologies that could be applied to develop and produce chemical and biological weapons are used widely by civilian research laboratories and industry; these technologies are relatively common in many countries. Advanced biotechnology has the potential to support biological weapons research. In the biological area, look for interest in technologies associated with:
Aerobiology (study of microorganisms found in the air or in aerosol form)
Biochemistry
Pharmacology
Immunology
Virology
Bacteriology
Mycology
Microbiology
Growth and culturing of microorganisms
Pathology (study of diseases)
Toxicology
Study of toxins
Virulence factors
Genetic engineering, recombinant DNA technology
Identification of nucleic acid sequences associated with pathogenecity
Freeze-drying (lyophilization)
Fermentation technology
Cross-filtration equipment
High "DOP-rated filters" (e.g., HEPA filters, ULPA filters)
Microencapsulation
Aerosol sprayers and technology, aerosol and aerosolization technology
Spray or drum drying technology
Milling equipment or technology intended for the production of micron-sized particles
Technology for eliminating electrostatic charges of small particles
Flight training
Crop-dusting, aerosol dissemination
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology
Fuses, detonators, and other munitions technology
Submunitions technology
Computer modeling of dissemination or contagion
Chemical absorption (nuclear-biological-chemical (NBC) protection)

Nice Research Wasp! but, it has got nothing to do with my getting scholarship as an international student. they haven't prohibited me to study biotech though. there is even programs in Biotechnology related project between Uz and Rutgers uni and also Iowa Uni if I am not mistaken.
http://ur.rutgers.edu/medrel/science/Raskin-new.shtml
in this article or whatever, they just wanna say that biotech knowledge could be enough to creat biowarfare. But, I don't think in college they will teach me that. so, it's nonsense.
Good job in doing research , could be a good moderator in this Education section.

Below are the UK universities that offer full scholarships at the
undergraduate level to international students. Be aware that few such
scholarships are on offer. There is intense competition for them. You
will generally need to contact the admissions office to inquire about
scholarships, and in most cases, you are permitted to apply only after
acceptance to the university.
University of Birmingham
"As a leading teaching and research institution, the University of
Birmingham attracts students of the highest calibre and, in recognition
of the important investment that students are making in their education,
is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to reward outstanding
academic achievement.
"Please note that in most cases the University only awards partial
scholarships and competition for these awards is intense."
International Office: Contact Details
http://www.international.bham.ac.uk/contact.htm (http://www.international.bham.ac.uk/contact.htm)
University of Cambridge
"The financial support available for overseas students is limited. Few
full scholarships are available at undergraduate level; most support is
a partial contribution to your overall costs and is means-tested.
"The Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust offer
awards (mostly part cost) to overseas students, including affiliated
students, who have been accepted for admission by a Cambridge college. You
cannot apply for funding through the Trusts until you have applied to
a college and have been offered a place."
"What if I'm from a country outside the EU?"
http://www.cam.ac.uk/cambuniv/ugprospectus/welcome/welcome14e.html (http://www.cam.ac.uk/cambuniv/ugprospectus/welcome/welcome14e.html)
University of Leicester
Leicester offer one full undergraduate scholarship to a student from
India and one to a student from Singapore.
International Office: Scholarships
http://www.le.ac.uk/international/isg/ioschol.html (http://www.le.ac.uk/international/isg/ioschol.html)
Oxford University
"A small number of full or partial Waverley Scholarships will be
available for students of oustanding academic merit and potential who
require financial assistance to enable them to take up their places at
Oxford to read for a first undergraduate degree. Priority will normally
be given to students from economically disadvantaged countries as judged
by per capita GDP."
International Office: Funding for international students

Among the universities listed at the following address, the above are the
only four that offer full undergraduate scholarships to international
students. Many more offer full graduate scholarships, and almost all
offer partial scholarships, generally in the range of 1000 to 3000 pounds
a year.

Hi Upward,
I am not promoting enrollment to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, but since I study there, i tried to dig in what UNO had to offer for ICT degrees. you can check out the link here http://www.ist.unomaha.edu/for_students/nrts.php
This is a scholarship available from UNO/Peter Kiewit Institute/the Department of Information Technology and Science directly, similar scholarship is available through UNO itself for international students.
I work at ICT department myself, and many students here say that most Texas schools have good offers for international students as the Graduate Assistant positions or scholarships, for example Baylor University http://www.baylor.edu/admissions/index.php?id=24964. International student seeking a graduate degree there, especially in ICT gets GA position for the first semester but it's hard to maintain it later on. Also your GRE and TOEFL scores count big time in any school if you want to get a bigger chunk of aid.
Good luck!
