View Full Version : Do you support?
I know it's annoying to open a thread again about Islam Karimov, but I just wanted to know the overall idea who supports him and who does not. You do not have to leave any comments or anything, but just if you don't mind, vote on the poll.
Thank you.

After what IAK did to the population there is going to be few people who would still support him. See the article below:
Thousands of refugees fleeing violence in the Uzbek town of Andijan have headed for neighbouring Kyrgyzstan.
Border crossings are closed but hundreds are said to have crossed over.
In the town of Korasuv, which straddles the frontier, refugees clashed with Uzbek police and government buildings were set alight.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov has blamed the unrest in Andijan, which began on Friday, on what he described as criminals and Islamic radicals.
Mr Karimov was speaking for the first time since troops opened fire on demonstrators, killing many.
It is not clear how many died, but some residents report seeing hundreds of bodies. Thousands of protesters reappeared on the streets of Andijan on Saturday, despite the bloodshed.
The Uzbek government said it was back in control of the eastern town, but huge crowds returned to the streets, shouting "killers, murderers" and demanding that the president step down.
Many people returned to the main square to express sympathy for those who died, while others were seeking news of their missing relatives.
But by Saturday evening, only about 200 protesters remained in the city centre.
The Uzbek violence erupted after days of peaceful protest in Andijan over the imprisonment of 23 local business leaders accused of Islamic extremism.
Mr Karimov has described what happened as an armed uprising, planned by Islamic militants linked to the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir movement who wanted to overthrow the government.
The BBC's Ian MacWilliam in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, says the situation in Uzbekistan is drawing sympathy in Kyrgyzstan, where large protests brought down the government in March.
'Extremist' threat Mr Karimov denied giving the order for troops to shoot.
Witnesses said troops opened fire on unarmed civilians.
Mr Karimov said about 10 soldiers, and "many others", were killed, but made no mention of protesters being killed.
Mr Karimov, an ally of both Washington and Moscow's war on terror, has taken a tough line on security since a spate of suicide bombings last year, blamed on Islamic extremists.
But critics say the president is using the threat of extremism as a cover to crush dissent.
