Help to Andijan!

Hello Dear Forum users!
We all know how bad the situation in Andijan is; how many deaths were there and etc. In short we know what happened and that there are thounds, may be millions who are suffering from the consequnces of those events. REading your posts and threads, I know all of you want to help in some way. You people did demostrations, which was brave, but didn't help as I read further.
The fund rasing idea initiated by Megaz, was supported bu many of us. So, why not to rasie that money for people of Andijan; for those who lost husbands or parents; for those who lost fathers or brothers. What you people think?Honestly, I don't know how to begin all this? I don't know to recieve or send money to sdy? except for check . How to make so that donators would trust ? may be we should give receipt to all those who donated. My freind, who is volunteering in Cross Cultural Solutions in Brazil, she wrote a beautfiul letter, asking for donation. People are giving her. Even $1's can gather up to $100's. There are lots of Uzbeks who don't visit forum in each country,state or city u live. So, we can write a convincing letter and distribute it. I am sure they will contribute. May be this would be beginning of our fund. We need action and results to attract as many donatoras as possible.
So, please think about it and help to organize or begin all this.

I did some research , not much, but those humanitarion organizations gave money to crucial countries, like in Africa or Brazil where their lives does not even meet basic needs. They don't even see Uzbeksitan as help needed country probably. oshanga pul uhlamashi uchun, organizovat qilib, oylash kere. what do u think other than inter. organizations?

Vo pervih krasnomu krestu ti mojesh dengi i ne davat esli ne hochesh, a pomoch oni obyazani, oni uje ya dumayu i deistvuyut v lagere bejencev, no esli ti im napishesh otkritoe pismo to ya ne dumayu oni tebe otkajut.

is anyone actually doing any research on this issue?
Please people in uzbekistan or kyrgyzstan find somebody whom we can trust, who will be able to find out what the people over there need most, costs of these things, so we can send our help.

I haven't done thorough reserch, but just looking through the web site of red cross, it seemed to me as they help only Russia . could not find anything related Uzbekistan. I wrote them letter let's see their response. I let u know.
Royal, I don't think we don't know what to do if we have money. If we think there should be way to spend this money effectively. Can you explain more your idea related with Kyrgyzistan.
Ozbekistondan ham kimdirla kerede. Muammo shundaki, odamla juda ham rozgor, oz muammolari bilan bandlar, kimnidir bu ishlaga qiziqtirsih qiyin bolsa kere.

my 5 cents :

how the help could be structured better w/o "uhlatish"?

one way could be to ask some non-profits acting in the region, like Ferghana.Ru - probably they can set up a trust fund or account to collect money and assign people to deal with logistics, etc.

another way could be to ask the representatives of Uzbek minority in Kyrgyzystan - Anvar Artikov, governor of Osh region (if not mistaken) to appoint people to deal with aid funds.

finally someone (some organization) acting in the US/Europe (relief/aid) could engage in all logistics and arrange the shipment of aid collected there into Kyrgyzystan directly (and the part of which could be shipped to Andijan if possible).
