"The issuance of religious edicts is limited to qualified Muslim scholars in the eight schools of jurisprudence, " added the statement, read out by Jordanian Religious Affairs Minister Abdul-Salam Al-Abadi.

I could not understand about 8 schools: I know Hanafiy, Malikiy, Shafi'iy and Hanbaliy. Fifth might be Jafariy (shia) but who is the rest three schools of jurisprudence? Any idea?

in Sunni ISlam there is only four recognized ones. The other ones may include Shia sects, if you notice in the list of guests there was Iraqi al-sistani. The meeting, state-sponsored, only addresses issuing fatwas and other politically sensitive issues...

Hanafiy, Molikiy, Shofe'iy va Hanbaliydan tahsqari Ja'fariy, zaydiy, Aboziy va Zohiriylar ham kirarkan. Keyingi to'rttasi haqida hech narsa bilmayman. Kim nima bilsa yoki link bo'lsa tashavorsin.
