Indicating the sex/gender of the forum participant

I would like to propose to indicate the sex of the participant under his/her picture. I'm sure that everybody will agree with me that it is very difficult to adress the person if you don't know his gender.

Believe me, this is not sexualism or any kind of discrimination.
This is just to have a better conversation/discussion.

I do agree that as a functionality there should be a choice for the forum members of whether to indicate their gender or not. IMHO, requiring them to do it will be rude. Moreover, I am puzzled understanding your point on why it is difficult to address the person of uknown gender. For most posts in English or Uzbek addressing him or her has nothing to do with the gender, unless for some russian suffixes you would need to know the gender.

Try to avoid any posts like "well I see that you are a girl/boy, therefore I do understand now why you are thinking weird" and belive me, there will be posts like this, once some people will have nothing to say against ones comments, and will look for to find something else to say. Again purely my HO, no recommendations.

That's where thinking come when we take nicks. People willing to show their gender, or identity chose certain names or show their own. Some chose nicks to partially expose their identity...so the nick usually shows what gender you are, if you initially intended it to do so.

There should be 3 kind of labels then, "M" for male users, who are happy to show their gender in their profile, "F" for female users, and "A" for those who wish to keep it as anonymous.

In fact I am a pro choice too. Personally to me it doesn't metter user's gender. If someone really need then can ask through PM, at least.

I'm sure that everybody will agree with me that it is very difficult to adress the person if you don't know his gender.
It is also difficult to address the person if you don't know his faith, nationality and etc. These personal things should not be in first place. I voted for "There's no difference for me"
