I see, but still we have so many new opened threads containing news.
If news already there in an approprite section of the Forum.uz then why you need another board? For instance if news is about sports and it is placed in the Sports section that's most suitable rather than gathering all types of news in one place.
Secondly if there is a section for News then copy & pasting becomes unbearable . That's no good for the forum both technically and content wise.

Well, Im more skeptical about this proposal. On one hand, people could discuss the latest "hot" topics happening around the world. But on the other hand, as ML has mentioned before, world news can be found anywhere in NET. Uzbek news about economy, welfare, banking etc. will not be taken by serious concern, whereas "Rayhon did sth and somewhere" will be much popular on this board. So I don't see any perspective in opening such a kind of board.

Welcome back, ML! You are right, but in most cases it is essential to analyse daily news in a separate board. You can visit straight the news board if you are fond of reading comments about day's news.

Back to the topic. As I said before it allows too much of copy & pasting. I'm not against discussing 'hot' topics circulated by the mass media. In fact, here in forum.uz, users do discuss latest popular news at different boards to some point. In my view, Uzb - Problems and Solutions & General Board are enough for discussing news. Former board for all news/stories relating Uzb and the CA while latter for news around the world.

There are countless internet resources about news. I guess we can open sticky threads in Uzbekistan or General forum in the case of breaking news as it is being done so far.
Perhaps it is not surprising that "Uzbek" "Honum" really wants to become a moderator in order to gain power to hand out warnings to Turkish users just because they say that Uzbek language and Turkish language belong ths same linguistic family called "Turkic languages".
In that regard, she can cultivate some moderators for instance Joe to ask MegaZ to open a new forum section specially for her and name it like "Hey Turks Uzbeks hate you, come on get your damn warning or ban". :mrgreen:
And then Tarafdor might open a new section called "Dear Iranians, Uzbeks like to kiss you", there is a high probability of SmiliK becoming the most active member of this section since she thinks Iranians have dominated the Central Asia/Turkistan in the past.....
And that would be the end of the reputation of this forum.

I can't say anything against copycat articles, since the author provides the original source info (inc links or references). Let's say not just "Newsroom" but any other board can be full of copy & paste. That's just not right argument to prevent opening a new board. Quality of new board will strongly depend on moderators. And, a question to you out of curiosity, have you ever watched "News-night" on BBC? Isn't it nice?

Yep I do watch News Night. Not regularly I would say but whenever I'll get a chance.

By the way, what sort of argument you would prefer? :) I suggested what in fact happens.

1. Quality of a particular board isn't solely depend on the moderator but users as well.
2. What prevents you or others to discuss latest hot news? Without the News Board you can't talk about news material? I believe its possible to have a discussion.

2. What prevents you or others to discuss latest hot news? Without the News Board you can't talk about news material? I believe its possible to have a discussion.
2. Nothing prevents, obviously. I usually go to other messaging boards to read comments. (Radio2's Jeremy Vine board, theguardiantalk) I was suggesting if we could gather comments of fellow-countrymen in one board, formatted and clean, finely sorted.

Не надо открывать раздел новостей! Вам мало "Общего форума","Узбекистан проблемы и решения"?
Допустим открыли раздел новостей (хотя это мы уже пробовали и нихрена толку не было от него),кто-то откроет топик и даст линк на новость связанно с проблемой Узбекистана и что? где же его обсуждать? Дибилизм. Во-первых,лишняя головная боль для модераторов,во-вторых беспорядка еще больше будет.
