Hi Everyone;

I am a turkish guy who lives in Turkey. I'd like to visit Tashkent after Ramadan.. I am planning to stay there for 2-3 weeks. I asked Embassy and they told me someone should send an invitation from Uzbekistan to get a visa. I know someone from Tashkent who will send an invitation soon..

I wonder how much money i will need for accomodation ( i am looking for a cheap hostel, hotel..) and for food and such expenses other than flight..

If someones who live in Tashkent or who have been there before could inform me, i would be very pleased..

Thank you in advance..

P.S You can post here or email me . ( treasureseeker1@gmail.com )

Treasureseeker,

You can find hotels on the following 2 links:
1. http://arujitravel.com/en/hotels/tashkent/
you can make reservation online("Book" button), or just e-mail to hotel@arujitravel.com (hotel@arujitravel.com) with your request. They have turkish speaking staff. Ask for "Isamiddin" :) . The hotel you are looking for will be around 20 - 30$ per night, with breakfast.

2. http://www.advantour.com/uzbekistan/hotels/tashkent.htm
this one is also well-organized company, have competitive prices.

In both cases you can ask for airport pick-up, according to hotel extra charge might be necessary. They work honestly with great hospitality. May be you can get some discount, since you will be staying 2-3 weeks.

If you are visiting Uzbekistan for the first time and have 2-3 weeks, try to arrange time for visiting Samarkand. There you can see amazing historical monuments. Mosque-mausoleum of Imam-Al-Buhari is also there.

Enjoy it.:)

Where you from, what s your nationality i don't know. However i am from Turkey and i can tell you how it works here.
I called Uzbekistan Embassy and the officer told me: I should join a touristic tour organized by a company and they would get visa on my befalf..
Otherwise if i wanna go on my own, as i said and as far as she told, someone should invite me from Uzbekistan formally..

I was surprised and i told Embassy officer: how come? what a strict procedure from a friendly and closed country in terms of culture, history and distance.. etc., although i had thought even i may not have needed a visa..

She told: we do as what is done to us :) Maybe she was right if Turkey do the same proceudre for Uzbekistan although i didnt know if that was right..

Invitation procedure isn't just for Turkish travellers but all other nationalities who requires visa to enter Uzbekistan. If you would like to come to Uzb except business, study or sports/cultural activities you need to get formal invation from someone in Uzbekistan. Alternatively you may get visa by joining travel tours arranged by a travel agency.

tashkent is not very expensive city more cheaper than istanbul, for example 2 -3 weeks tour package through Uzbekistan with full service is about 1500 USD. -- OrexCa.Com
but if you want to travel yourself or by yourfreinds it would be more cheaper.

Wellcome to Uzbekistan !!!

Except Japanese. They still need visa to enter Uzbekistan, but tourist visa could be obtained without any visa support (invitation etc.)

Hey man don't worry! Cause Tashkent is the city of bread. Have u heard about it? So u won't be hungry and homeless in Uzbekistan. U can rent a flat with all facilities for 100$ in Sebzar or Chilanzar 16th block. So I'm sure 1200$ is quite enough to travel through all sightseeings of UZBEKISTAN. U'll like this country!!! have a good trip..

Yes you can. For that you need to join a tour organized by a travel agency thus obtain visa and travel Uzb.

that's so rude!!!

everyone who has spent some time with internets knows that forum pages are the most popular sites of it, because ppl are aware that one feel its freedom there, unless there is a post which include slang words or illegal stuff moderators can't delete anything. otherwise it wud not be ethical.

we have enough dictators in real life!

and we just wanna feel our freedom in forums. if you don't know this common knowledge please learn it soon.

it is not a fault not to know, but not to learn is !

Acaba Özbekistana; Sıradan özbek vatandashı, yabancı birisini misafir olarak davet edebilirmi?

Ask your friends (who would make the invitation letter for you) to stay with them and you'll save a lot. Besides, if you go and see the places of interest on your own and not through a travel agency - you'll do the same. You won't need much money for Tashkent.
