New Zealand student researching Uzbekistan

I am a New Zealand university student studying Uzbekistan. I am extremely interested in the general life and society in uzbekistan from the early 1990s on. I am currently writting a paper which focuses on uzbekistan post september eleven, examining its relationship with the US and other powers. I am however, finding this somewhat difficult. I would love to hear opinions on this topic, or about general life and state of affairs in uzbekistan as it is a world away from me!!!

However, if you can read Russian, then you can find a lot more information on the Internet. www.ferghana.ru, www.centrasia.ru have some good resources on Uzbekistan post 1991.

in order to study you have to live one month in Uzbekistan, enough to research, :)
