Let's talk about problem of drugs. A bit more than a decade ago the problem was barely heard about. It seemed so distant and foreign, but nowadays it breaks families apart, kills young people and causes spread of HIV/AIDS in the region.

And again we are back to the same poverty, unemployment, deprivation and hopelessness as a rootcause of most problems. It rather hurts, that inspite of moving ahead the society drowns even more.

Is full recovery of a drug addict possible?

I agree with you except these two points, poverty and unemployment. If you know that one of the biggest drug market is EU and especially Holland, which is one of the most social countries. that means, these two factors are not playing key role in this problem...

my point was also about uzbekistan, i meant that if even you increase the social level and decrease unemployment, the drug problem will not be solved or decreased.

My opinion then contradicts with yours. Agree, the problem will not be solved totally, however, the incerease in the peoples' well-being would contribute to the decrease in the number of drug addicts. Young people would have more incentives to lead a proper life: savings, run of business, careers, etc.

However, the fact of Afghanistan's closeness, also has a negative contribution. This is unchangeable geographical fact.

I think, sometimes when u r all alone, depressed and beaten up by life, want to talk to somebody, look at others and envy them and wished u had what they have-friends, you want to suicide. But, u do not, cuz it is a a greates sin. And then, u simply roll up a pipe and smoke. So u miss the feeling of freedom and peace broght to u by the Drug so much, that want to experience it for a moment again.

I am reading a report by the UNODC on Uzb. There is a high correlation between illicit drug use and HIV infection in the country. About 90% of users inject the drugs and share the needle and thus spread the disease.

HIV infected commercial sex workers also tend to use drugs and spread the disease.

So people, be careful.
