The United Kingdom temporarily suspended activity of the visa service at the British Embassy in Tashkent, UKVisa said in its notice on 22 November.

"For security related reasons, the visa service at the British Embassy in Tashkent has been suspended until further notice," UKVisa said.

It added that applications for visit visas may be made at any other visa-issuing Post, including Moscow, Russia and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Ukvisas, founded in June 2000 as the Joint Entry Clearance Unit (JECU), was established jointly by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Home Office to manage the UK's entry clearance (visa) operation.

For operational reasons, the visa service at the British Embassy in Tashkent has been temporarily suspended.

You can apply for a visit visa at any UK diplomatic mission offering a full visa issuing service. With immediate effect, and on a temporary basis, all other visa applications from residents in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan should be submitted to the British Embassy in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is part of politikal and economik pressure on uzbek government strategy by west ...( means it will stay like this for some time)
U can go to Astana or Moscow for visa.

Yeah, I know. but I really need something like a proved information about the re-opening, and at the meantime i know definitely that nobody knows it.....F**k..it seems i 've to go to Moscow..ufffffffff..:(

you can also use Kazahstan one

I think it'll be even better because UK Embassay in Russia having some difficulties right now

"UK Embassy Tashkent"ning konsullik bo'limi yopilganidan beri UK ga kelish istagida bo'lganlar Almaty shahriga borishlari kerak ekan.

Kim shu masala yuzasidan Almaty ga borgan bo'lsa yoki uyoqdagi sharoit haqida biror bir ma'lumotga ega bo'lsa yozingizlar iltimos (maybe by PM)

Toshkentdan qanday yo'l bilan borish maqsadga muvofiq? (samolyot/yengil mashina...)

Almaty da Hotel booking qilish...
Qulayliklar/qiyinchiliklar... degandek.

P.s: Qozog'istonlik forum ishtirokchilari bormikin, ajabo??

U'ziz Londonda ekansiz Almatada nima qilasiz...?
Hozir Almataga borgan U'zbeklarni ku'pchiligiga viza bermayapti. (ancha qiyin). 2 haftacha oldin borgan 30 u'zbekdan 3 kishi viza olgan 27tasi boshini ushlab qaytishgan.
Agar konkret savollariz bu'sa PM qivoring, qu'ldan kelganicha yordam qilamiz.

For one or two month courses, visas for how long do they give?
How about courses that last 3-4 weeks?

Its very difficult to get visa for short term courses.
If gets it'll be for 6 months minimum. (it does not matter whether course is 1 week or 2 weeks)

I heard that when Tashkent office was open, it had given 6-month, later 2-month visas (as minimum). But what you say is real for the current Almaty case?

My brother got Visa for 4 weeks language course - they gave 6 months visa for 4 weeks course!! but it was in 2003!

the same about me. I mean I got visa for 6 month having 6 weeks course, it was last year. But I have no idea about the situation now.

Naskolko mne izvestno v nastoyashiyi dni v posolstve UK v Almati vizu dayut na 6 mesyatsev,nezavisimo ot sroka kursa.No luchshe brat kursi ne menshe 8 nedel i ne pokazivat chto xorosho znaesh yazik i staratsya obxodit bez perevodchika.Mnogiyi kto polzovalis uslugami perevodchika poluchili otkaz.Govoryat(eto mneniye znokomix kotoriyi znaya angliyskiy dlya straxovki brali perevodchika)chto perevodchiki ne ochen -to ...Govoriish kucha veshey perevodit odnim slovom.
Est jenshina kotoraya proshla bez sobesedovaniya.So 2 nedelnim kursom.Konechno ona opitnaya uchitelnitsya.

To get Visa for short time was very easy when I booked a room in the Hostel, and they faxed to embasy booking form. I used Forest House Hostel in London. Good prices, for single room for a week 100 GBP. email was info@idealplace.uk.com , but in ggogle you can find address,

for 4weeks course they gave me 35days visa!it was 2004!:) Its very difficult to get visa for short term courses.

I read they have two kinds of visa(in this case), tourist and student. Tourist visa cannot extended, student visa can. Applying for a course (language, professional, etc) one can get only student visa? Or tourist visa can also be given?

oshna gapiz togri, lekin ..buni bitta ozbeklar qilmeydi, hamma qiladi shuni..

misol uchun siz ham qilass, men ham qilaman, hamma yashi yashashni hohledi..

recently i heard a guy applied thru almaty. for 6 weeks course, they gave visa for 6 weeks. so good luck everybody.
you guys are right. they are having strict rules about visas.
