- Whereas Christians propound that man is born sinful and that his stay in the world is intended to expiate and to suffer, the Islamic religion states that human beings are innocent creatures when they are born, that they are beloved born slaves of Allahu ta'ala, that they are responsible for their behavior by the time they reach the age of puberty and discretion, and that they shall enjoy the infinite blessings of the Hereafter if they manage to abide by the right way.
- Islam states that all Muslims are brothers, wherein differences of race, color, language or country have no place. The Islamic religion holds everybody equal in the view of Allahu ta'ala. During the performance of namaz, a person of the highest rank stands beside another, who may be of the lowest rank, a richest one beside another who, perhaps, is the poorest member of the society, and a white Muslim next to a black one, and with one accord they prostrate themselves before Allahu ta'ala.

What is the gain from re-explaining the same thing again and again to people who refuse to believe us anyway?
I think so. Islam is not religion only it is ideology too. The ideology much stronger than Communist ideology.

I am interested what kind of relationship you have with your God. Are you talking to air only? Every relationship is mutual including our relationship with God. Do you get answers to your prayers?
with respect.

Dear Shogird,
I suggest that you look up the word Tawhid in your Islamic learnings. Further you study, more you will understand the relationship between Allah and humans.
I don't know what you mean by using the word "mutual". Do you imply that God is dependent on us? Allah is independent of all his creatures. It is we servants who need his Guidance, Mercy and Love so we will be saved from the fire of the hell.
The better Muslims humans are, the closer they get to God. But nothing is absolutely close to him. God is incomparable to any of his creatures. (this you will find if you learn tawhid)
So the answer is Muslims are very close to Allah. Since nothing can escape Him. And we do get answers to our prayers and supplications. (Please, make it clear what you mean by saying "prayer". Muslims view praying and supplicating (asking something from God) differently)
I know you asked Stanford a question but I hope my post would serve to be at least part of the answer.

Dear Shogird,
I would like to clear out some misunderstandings among non-muslims. You said
"I am interested what kind of relationship you have with your God"
One thing you should know is that Mulims know that there is only one God. Saying "your God" and "my god" is absolutely unacceptable for there is only one God. It may be typical that other religions view Muslims having a different God, but according to the rules of logic there can't be any other God when "There is no god but God"
It is ok if you didn't know, we are here to clear out the misunderstanding. But if you knew that, let's not use irony here. That will be more appropriate.

Could Not Answer
Preface (http://www.hizmetbooks.org/Could_not_Answer/1.htm)
Today, all people have to obey Qur'an al-karim. No country in the world today has any original copies of the Taurah or the Bible. These books were later interpolated by people.
The true religion of Isa alaihis-salam was soon changed by his adversaries insidiously. A jew named Paulus (of Tarsus) said that he believed in Isa alaihis-salam and pretended to try to spread Isawi religion, but made away with Injil, which had been revealed by Allahu ta'ala. Later the theory of trinity was inserted into Isawi religion. An unreasonable and illogical doctrine, namely father - son - holy spirit, was thus established. The genuine Injil having been lost, some people wrote Gospels later.

The New Testament of the Bible consists of four Gospels ( reports about the life and teachings of Jesus) the acts of the Apostles (being the history of the early Christians), and Epistles of Paul etc.
In his Epistle to the Colossians (Chapter 4, Verse 10) Paul describes Barnabas thus: " . . . Barnabas, touching whom ye received commandments; if he comes unto you, receive him." Here Paul refers to commandments of Jesus.
Among other references in Paul's Epistles is the following in the Epistle to the Galatians:
"And when James, Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go to the heathen and they unto the circumcision." (Chapter 2. Verse 9).
In the Acts of the Apostles, Barnabas is mentioned as follows:
"And Joses, who by the Apostles was surnamed Barnabas, which is, being interpreted, (The son of consolation), a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus." (Acts 4:36).
Paul was a Jew who was persecuting the Christians. He is said to have seen Jesus in a vision and to have become a convert to the creed of Jesus. Among the disciples of Jesus, Barnabas was a dynamic evangelist. Paul also became a preacher, with the difference that Paul began to over-praise and deify Jesus. "And straightaway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the son of God." (Acts 9: 20).
ACTS 9:26 and 27: "And when Saul ( Paul ) was come to Jerusalem he assayed to join himself to the disciples, but they were all afraid of him and believed not that he was a disciple. "But Barnabas took him and, brought him to the Apostles.
ACTS 11:22-30: "Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the Church which was in Jerusalem; and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
"Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
"For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
"Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
"And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
"And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the spirit that there should be great dearth throughout the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
"Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea.
"Which also they did and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul."

Mo'min deganda yana uch tangriga ishonganni nazarda tutyapsan shekilli.
Har insonni ishongani emas Musulmonlarni ishongan ilohiga Alloh deydilar. Boshqalariniki esa, o'z kallalarida tasavvur qilayotgan yarim tangri, yarim mahluq, gohida tug'ib gohida ikkiga bo'linib ketadigan mavjudotdir.
Tangri tabiati degan so'zingni o'zi mana shuni isbotlab turibdi.
Jinlarni quvaman degan sen emasmi? Jin quvgancha o'zingni shaytoningni quvmaysanmi, senga kufrni iymon qilib ko'rsatib turgan. shundan keyin sen ahmoq bo'lmay jinlar ahmoq bo'lsinmi?

CROSSING OVER
An Intellectual and Spiritual Journey from Islam to Christianity
By Nabeel Qureshi
". . . and the truth will set you free."
As a Muslim, there was one thing I had always believed that would make Christianity completely invalid, regardless of anything else. According to Qur’an, Christ did not die on the cross.
That they said "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah." But they killed him not, nor crucified him, … of a surety they killed him not. (Al-Qur’an 4:157-158)
If Christ did not die on the Cross, then Christianity is without question a vain belief, even according to Paul himself! Paul said that if Christ was not raised from the dead, then the faith of a Christian is worthless (1 Corinthians 15:17). Of course, His resurrection requires His death, and so Paul is stating that if Christ did not die on the cross, then the Christian faith is worthless.
Thus we are presented with a question: "Which is right—the Qur’an or the Bible?" Of course, if I were to pick the Qur’an without perusing the evidence, I would not be searching for the truth; rather, I would be robotically defending what I had prejudicially taken as the truth. After investigating the facts surrounding the crucifixion of Christ, I was amazed by how incontrovertibly clear it is that He did die on the cross, a fact which is considered by some historians to be among the best established facts of history. Based on the first century evidence (including both Christian and non-Christian sources), as well as our historical knowledge about Roman crucifixion, there turns out to be no rational way to deny the death of Jesus. Any notion that says otherwise requires an elaborate conspiracy theory of some sort, and even those fail because the conspirators would have been His apostles, the very disciples who were quite obviously convinced of the truth of the Gospel message.
Can someone else pay for my sins?
It was in 2001 that I had been surprised by finding David reading the Bible. Two and a half years later, I had come to know that the book he had been reading was historically trustworthy, and that within the pages of that book we find one of the greatest men in history claiming to be God Himself. This man died on the cross and rose from the dead as He had predicted. But things were still far from adding up.
As a Muslim, I believed that every person is individually responsible for all of his sins.
And be on your guard against a day when one soul shall not avail another in the least, neither shall intercession on its behalf be accepted, nor shall any compensation be taken from it, nor shall they be helped.(Al-Qur’an 2:47-48)
How could it be possible that someone else would be able to pay for my sins—and not just my sins, but the sins of the whole world? This is no justice! Causing an innocent man to suffer for the rest of the world is not only unjust, but sick and twisted. And the coup de grace: not only would that innocent man have to suffer, but He would also have to suffer a cursed death!
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." (Galatians 3:13)
I could not believe that the all-loving Creator of the Universe would allow one of his most beloved messengers, let alone His Son, to die an accursed death in order to pay for billions upon billions of lives of sin. It did not add up logically nor mathematically.
But would it add up if I gave it a chance? If billions of people in the world believed this for almost two millennia, it would be the pinnacle of pride to think that I was smart enough to see it as blatantly self-defeating while none of those billions ever found anything wrong with it. Of course, Christianity does not have to be true simply because many people believe it; however, if it has been the one faith with the most followers in all of history, it probably is not obviously wrong, either. After a series of discussions, I began to see that Christianity was not as self-defeating as I had thought. In fact, it was quite beautiful—perhaps the greatest love story in history.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
