Did anyone of ya changed his/her passport, while stayin in Australia? Was that an option?
I am thinking of getting in contact with uzbek embassy people in Singapore, and/or Thailand, what would you recommend? There is no Uzbek Embassy in the country :(
I would appreciate any suggestions from your side!!

If your passport has expired, you can prolong it or change it only in Uzbekistan.

newbie, since Uzbekistan does not have any diplomatic relationships with Australia hence the embassy does not exist. Here is my peace of advice: Get in touch with your relatives/friends back at home and tell them to go to the local "passport table",tell them to make up a story...sort of you lost your passport and you need a duplicate one (Do not tell them that you need a new one). Surely the officials will ask them about your location...make sure they tell them that you are in Uzbekistan in hospital or something, not feeling well or in need of a operation (evil,i know...but it works). Then they will issue another passport,it intirely depends on you how fast you want to get it. To fasten the procedure you know what to do.

I wouldn't recommend doing this at all if you're planning to come back with this new passport.
I faced the same problem last year and did exactly what illusion mentioned earlier - went to consulate and got a Certificate.
Officers at the airport in Tashkent will check your certificate very carefully and if you have a passport instead, and you cannot prove you were present in Uzbekistan at the moment of issuing this passport - you can face a huge problems. I even heard a story about the guy who's got the passport renewed and sent to him while he was in US and he was stopped at the airport, had a lot of problems - they even found a person who was working at "passport-table" and punished him. Well, it's true that u can pay-off this problems but in this case you might be talking not even about a hundreds of $$. To make the long story short - don't do this.
The situation is a little different, of course, if you have a permanent residency and at the moment of leaving Uzbekistan you've got different type of OVIR viza. It should say on it - leaving for permanent residency and this type of visa doesn't have an expiration date, like the usual one does - 2 years.

Just want to share my personal experience with a stupid passport control official in uzbek airport.
I got my passport legally renewed in the uzbek embassy in US. However, my first encounter with an uzbek official at the airport cost me a bunch of nerves cells. He just withheld my passport and without any explnation made me wait for don't know what/who. He was insisting that I renewed/exchanged my passport unofficially, sending it to my relatives in Tashkent. I gave that stupid guy the official embassy letter stating that my passport been renewed there, but that moron still kept me waiting. Only with the interference of a person meeting me, that imbicile returned my passport.
WHat I want to say is: don't xchange your passport through your relatives in UZB while you are abroad. That might cause you problems. When back to Uzb, get the embassy letter with translation in uzbek/russian, so that the mentally disadvantaged people in the customs understand its content.

Guys,I totally understand the problems that you have faced in uzbek airport, that's exactly why I've written in my previous post not to ask for a new passport, but ask for a duplicate one - when asked for a duplicate, they issue the same expiry/issue dates as your previous passport. Remember, you are not breaking any immigration regulations.

Kolobok,
is that even possible? could you tell a bit more about the procedure of applying for this kind of duplicate?
thanks

I don't think that your absence at the time they re-issue you a new passport should be a problem. Yes, some question and answers, but nothing more. Here at least 3 guys already changed their passports and after had a trip to uzbekistan, having least problems with that. But that was all with re-issueing/issueing a new one, not a duplicate. Hence that question: by saying procedure, i meant legal procedure and other must follow steps. and how safe this can be when you enter tashkent next time.
because, you know when you leave uzbekistan, you get a stamp on the last page of the passport. and that is the reason of all problems i guess.

I didn't know you get stamps at the back page of your passport,interesting...what is the point of having it? Because, immigration does not normally worry about whois getting out of the country, their main concern should be - whois getting into it. Damn,do we still have a soviet immigration system!?

Could somebody explain how an Uzbek passport which is about to expire can be renewed through an embassy?
My girlfriend is Uzbek and her passport will expire next February. We're planning to marry in august in Uzbekistan and come to live in Spain, and of course we don't want to have to come back in feb. to renew her passport. Another option would be to postpone wedding until september (6 months before expiry) so she can renew passport before wedding, but we've already made plans and would prefer to stick to august.
Thanks in advance, and please, answer in English

Hello you all this is my first post and also my question is revelant to this topic as i have a uzbek girl whom i love with my heart and i'm 23 years and she is 19 and we already meet last december and love each other very much now i plan to bring her to america with fiancee visa , but there is someone helping her with the documents procedures for her to obtain her uzbek passport then later proceed with me applying for petition for her to come to america with fiancee visa the person who is assisting her claim that she need her parents signature to obtain the uzbek passport for her to be release to travel outside Uzbekistan , i dunno much about the law in Uzbekistan as we both are deaf do not have much information about this , I thought since she was 19 years old she was free to marry since literally she is already an adult, but does the law there in uzbekistan required both parents consents signature in order for her to marry me ? she need legal documents permission from them ?? does uzbek passport required parent's release form for her in order to get her uzbek passport ? please I would appreciate such information from Uzbek nationals

Hi Pipo,
There shouldn't be any problem if she is 19 y.o. But there might be a situation where they are making a deal of her disability. Probably there is a law of having a permition of the parent before she gets 24-25 y.o. IF her parent know about "you and her" and your plans there shouldn't be any problem.
