I have a woman in Tashkent who wants to visit me here in US, been chatting online for several months and found we have alot in common so want to take this step to finally meet each other.
But she has heard it's very difficult to obtain Visa to US, is that correct ?
I did several searches at US-Embassy in Almaty and here in US, not sure how to proceed and filing the correct Form ?
Have anyone else had the same problem and can share information for us please ?
I have a permanment residence here in US, since I moved from Sweden 10 years ago, actually 2 citizenships but she has not been outside Tashkent or overbroad.
Can we file for fiance visa or tourist visa to come and stay here 3-6 months ?
Should I travel to her instead and file the papers together instead ?
There is of course a issue with $$ doing a round trip for me first and then antoehr ticket for her back and fourth...:(
Would be great to have some money left so we can have some fun here in US and travel around.

Any advice ?

Thanks alot adn looking forward to hear from you,

"Happy New Year Everybody"

Sincerely
Swede.:inlove: :chefico: :bigdance:

Yap, but depends, some time US Consulate gives @ no problem, problem is when if they give denial for viza that time is hard to get any viza later.

Fiance viza type K1 shpould proper one, but that form should be applied in US and must be send to INS office for processing, processing time easily You may find it from on of the INS web site

difficulty here only time frame and all the questions must be answered properly, also depends in which state are You located as well, shows in those INS web site

US consulate gives always (most of the times) viza for 4years and @ the JFK airport they give for first entrance to the US viza 6month (most of the times).

Should I travel to her instead and file the papers together instead ?
dont need it...

Hello ,

I am a citizen of Uzbekistan . I came here (US ) myself on K-1 visa (Fiancee visa) just recently .

NOw , Trying to figure things in collaboration with my wife who is a US citizen .

Just a little note on your case .

if you guys just want to know each other better and meet in person . K-1 visa is not the type you want to file for , I guess . I am not sure yet . K-1 visa is for fiancees :?

First of all , when you start working on K-1 (for fiancees) , you will notice that one of the requirements of the petition is that you need to have a proof of at least 2 years relationship with her. Those could be letters , pictures , phonce call bills, trips together and so on . Anything that proves that you guys love each other .

Basically , how K1 visa works :

1) US citizen or permanent resident files a petiton with required documents for the proof of the relationship. (IT is done , to let them know that there is your fiance that wants to live with you in america and you try to get her permission or visa to enter america)

2) Then it will take INS about 5 or more months to process your information . once they do , they will send you a Notice of action paper . Which you must keep . (you will need it later )

3) after , your fiance will get notice from the closet US embassy that issues K-type visas for the interview . In her case it will be Almaty , KAzakhstan . the embassy in Uzbekistan doesn't issue K- type visas . The trip shouldn't be that costly since she lives in Tashkent .

4) She attends interview to prove the intend to marry you there in America and create a family. if INS finds it is not a fraud , then she get her visa .
It would be very difficult for her to persuade the consular though , since she never met you in person .

There will be other steps to complete when she gets to america , but it is another story.

In general , wanted to give you a clue that fiance visa K-1 might not work for you guys right now .

There should be other types of visas that will work for your case
Hope everything will work out for you guys . Women from central asia are so much different that those of you have ever seen ! You will never regret meeting one.

take care ,
