are we supposed to make a wild guess about your qualifications?
I would understand you if you were in Uzbekistan and were hailing that you can't get a job,but being in the US and not having a job, that's wrong.
I'll tell you what to do,go to the first McDonald's and get employment applications and fill them out,I'm sure they will hire you at $8.

Thnx , for the advice . are there any better opportunities to make quick money rather than working for Walmart , gas-stations , dish-washing etc.

I understand we are not talking about my qualifications to find the best position, that's something I will figure eventually myself in the US .

I am talking about making money in a short while to survive . Just for the beginning , to have food to eat . working for McDonald's is one of the opportunities . BUt did everyone go thru this in the very beginning ? Like everyone had to mop floors ,showel the snow and serve in restaurants .

What was the first job you got for example forex_dealer ?

All jobs are ok if it helps you to survive . There is no shame in them . But I would kindly ask people to give more creative ideas to make money in a little while .

if there is none then I will make an obvious choice (not suicide ;) )

I just don't like American's stereotype thought that most immigrants do what they wouldn't want to do and that immigrants serve them . We are equal members of the society and that's what I want to prove . By not working in Mcdonald's.

Where you at? What city or state? Is it a big city with a lot of opportnities and places to work at or just a lil town...? It all depends you know that. I see your English is good so you shouldn't have any language barrier. If you have a lot of restaurants arond, you can go and serve to begin with. Cash right of way and food. Hmm what else, do you have driver's licence as well, or you just gonna get it? Good luck :).

hey , I am back with some info
Thank you for all your advices . I really appreciate it . PLus, there are people out there , who probably need to have such information. It helps to coordinate and lighten the path .

In this post I want to tell a little about my research and answer other members' questions

As of me , the other day I have been engaged in the following kinda research :

we all know probably about Yellow Pages reference book . Any decent firm tries to put its name there to raise its profit.

I have been thinking of what I have that gives me a comparative advantage over Americans that can create money easily. High paying jobs as we already know require certificates , job experience , some project results , availability of a place , and so on .

And most of us probably , think in order to satisfy our short term money needs we are doomed to work for comparatively low-wage places .

but here what I have done. I live in Washington state (not DC) , the city called Spokane . It is the third populous city in Washington (first Seattle).
I have noticed that there are a lot of Russian speakers . Even when I went to Social Security Office , the woman I talked to was from Kyrgizstan. When I asked if I am the first ever Uzbek in Spokane she said that she had encountered a lot of them .
Basically , there are about 25 000 Russian speakers in the city or even more.
I thought what if I do some interpretering for people who have problems with understanding Englsih .

First of all , our advantage over american interpreters is that Russian language is our kinda native language 'casue we have
been exposed to this language since we were little . also , not can every russian speaker fluently speak English .
it is a dual interdependence. So here where our advantage comes clear and convincing .
IF you know English well , then you can defeneatly try to look for interpretering job . And it would be easy to get accepted.

SO , I was wondering whethter there are any translation/interpretering companies . And when I looked up yellow pages
there was only two companies in the whole city .
(You can try to google if you want to find your local translating service companies, or go here http://www.thecitiesof.com/)

So Here are their sites . 1) http://www.spokanetranslations.com/ 2) http://www.alsintl.com/

I went to the first one , it seemed to be small I thought it would give me more chances to be accepted . To my surprise they were more than willing to accept me into their company .
They got so interested . And they offered me a job as a medical interpreter $27 an hour . I am not joking . it was more than I expected .

'cause of huge demand for interpreters, they were unable to cope with it .Thus losing money.

how it works . WE know that there are some immigrants hardly speak ENglish . And when they face governmental organizations like courts , hospitals etc . They have difficulty relating to them . So what those organizations do they hire temporary interpreters to help them get their points accross . But they do it thru well known company.

But in order to get that job , I have to go thru a small test . IN washington state every interpreter has to be a certified
interpreter . So those people from my job gave me application to fill in for the short test in Russian (which is very
very easy , peace of cake ). NOw , I am assigned a date to take the test . Once I get the certificate , I can start working.

here is the site of the organization which issues certificates for Washington interpreters http://www1.dshs.wa.gov/msa/ltc/itsvcs.html

GOOD luck , if anyone has any super creative idea , I'd be delighted to read about it !:P

Also , there is another creative idea that goes in accordabce with my previously mentioned philosophy . "Something that we have that they don't have - comparative advantage"

You have probably noticed in your hood some community college. Those colleges by default offer seasonal fun classes or some corses for a low fee .
Like teaching Excel , studying Japanese , learning to draw . Some of them might seem to you dumb . But they are for fun . catalogues with lessons are usually found in the community's public library .

SO , I have noticed that a lot of people usually interested to know more about UZ. Whenever I talk they ask me questions and I end up having a lot of people asking the same questions over and over .

I thought why not run some fun lessons about UZ in one of community colleges . All you have to do prepare materials to show to the administration to endorse your course. Prove that you will have full attendance (means people would be coming and paying). For that you have to prepare hard . it will depend on your pedagogical skills . But one thing is clear , while most of people could just go on-line and find some info on UZ , they won't find what you have seen and experienced as a citizen . YOu have to emphasize this line in your lessons. IMHO

as a proof for example, we could find most of information in this forum somewhere else . But we still discuss together , 'cause our own experience is what we trust and also , we understand each other .

Waiting some other ideas , let's get rich !!! :)
