I received this potentially useful tip from a friend by email:

Remember, this advice was sent by a retired State Farm agent!

This system has been tried and it works in every state. If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or whatever the case may be, and you're going to get points on your license. This is a method to ensure that you DO NOT get the points. When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00 or some small amount over the fine. The system will then have to
send you back a check for the difference, however here is the trick.

DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK! Throw it away!!!

Points are not assessed to your license until all financial transactions are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are NOT complete. The system has received it's money and is satisfied and will no longer bother you. This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that sets up the standard databases used by every state.

No, I haven't tried this myself (it's been 3 years since the last time I got a ticket). I got this by email, and don't personally know anyone who has tried it.

that's an old trick,I don't think it works anymore.But you can always try.Another trick is rescheduling your court appointment.Say you have an emergency or something like that.They reschedule your court date,if the officer doesn't show up on that date,your case will automatically be dismissed.Most of the times,the officer that gave you a ticket doesn't show up so you have a 90% of getting your case dismissed.This is even better than sending a money order and not cashing the change.

I rescheduled the court hearing, but the officer showed up - in civilian clothes! With her daughter! It must have been her day off. Of course she'd come prepared - the certificates and calibration records for her equipment, her training certificates, etc. And I usually can't talk my way out of trouble, so I lost :(

Then, when I got the refund, I didn't cash the check. But I still got a letter which said I'd received 3 points! :evil:

So basically that old trick is indeed old, and doesn't work anymore. Now gotta try something else, like not getting caught while speeding :)

Шансы что офицер не объявится совсем маленькие. Ведь городская казна в какой-то мере пополняется за счет тех самых тикетсов.
Если у вас это первый спидинг тикет то можно обойтись таким образом:

Нанять лоера и в суд можно не ходить. За вас все сделает ваш лоер и представится перед судьей за вас.

Шансы выиграть дело конечно почти что на нуле. Зато тот самый лоер работает с судьей почти что всегда репрезинтируя своих клиентов. Судьи и лоеры работают-то всегда бок о бок в том же самом Корт хаусе, а меняются лишь офицеры и нарушители как мы с вами. То есть судья, даже вслучае вашего проигрыша конечно же даст тому лоеру «косточку», тем самым освободив вас от поинтсов.

Что и произошло со мной. Но это лишь срабатывает только на первый раз. А дальше и поинтсы пойдут со всеми истекающими последствиями

After paying dont ask how much for those tickets and for all types of violations i am the most disciplined driver. if it says 25 i drive 25. let those driving behind me blow up! AND long live US system which was successful to discipline me. i even wear seatbelt these days. very sad, but people change...

Ticket problem is bothering everyone I guess. I got 2 tickets last month.
I don't really know what happened to me on those days. Maybe it was just a bad luck. Recently I've heard that US government ordered to give more violation tickets for drivers. I do not know how much of this is true. But most of my friends are telling me that they are also getting few more tickets so far in this year then last.
And I also notice this, that some Police men are racist. They will check your Driver License. If you have a foreign name they try to give you a ticket “mother ****ers” But Couple of times they did let me go so easily. But now, in these days even if you beg them to give you just a warning and let you go they do not listen, they just wana give you a ticket.
After paying 2 tickets I also become much disciplined driver and even I have a sticker on my stirring wheel it says “Be cautious. Do not disobey traffic signs. Do not speed” :P

I suggest you all to have some stickers on your stirring wheels. And I hope you will remember to follow them too.

Ya 2 raza polu4al ticket i vsegda xodil v court bez lawyera. Tam vsyo prosto : 3 lines -- "guilty", "not guilty" i "no contest". Ya vsegda vstaval v line " no contest". Perviy raz mne sudya skazal "Welcome to US, pay court fee (zaplati sudebnie izderjki) ( 100$) and no points, no records, no info to Insurance Company ( nikakix shtrafnix ballov i informaciya ne idet v straxovuyu kompaniyu).
