Во вторник государственный секретарь США Кондолизза Райс объявила о ряде мер, призванных упростить процедуру выдачи виз людям, намеревающимися прибыть в США, передает Financial Times.

В частности, студенты смогут получать американские визы за 120 дней и прибывать в США за 45 дней до начала занятий (сейчас - за 90 и за 30 дней соответственно). Для жителей Мексики и Канады будет разработана биометрическая идентификационная карта, которая заменит их паспорт на территории США.

В ближайшее время вступит в действие пилотный проект по проведению собеседований с претендентами на американскую визу в режиме видеоконференции, чтобы избавить их от необходимости посещать консульское представительство США.

Кроме того, в США будет организована служба компенсаций, который займется жалобами лиц, желающих прибыть в США, на обращение с ними на границе или в консульских представительствах США по всему миру.

Райс подчеркнула, что целью всех этих нововведений является создание "более быстрого, более надежного и более достойного процесса принятия иностранных гостей в США". По ее словам, Государственный департамент США добился значительного прогресса в ускорении выдачи виз. Так, 97 процентов людей, которым выдаются визы, получают их в течение двух дней. Ускорен и срок проверки кандидатов на получение американских виз. Теперь он, как правило, не превышает двух недель.

Журналисты отмечают, что количество туристов, посещающих США, достигло минимального уровня, сократившись в 2004 году на 35 процентов по сравнению с 1992 годом. Electronic Visa Application Form DS-156

Prior to the interview, applicants should visit the State Department Electronic Visa Application Forms web site: http://evisaforms.state.gov/. Having read the instruction on how to fill out e-visa forms, an applicant should complete Electronic Visa Application Form DS-156 form in English, filling out every box and answering every question, even if the question does not apply to him or her. It is necessary to write “NO” or “NOT APPLICABLE” if it does not apply. Some boxes will accept only numbers. For these boxes applicants may write “NO” or “NOT APPLICABLE” on the form after they have printed the form. Applicants can print the form out on a laser printer and sign it. Page 1 and 2 of the printed form will be the completed DS-156, Page 3 will be a sheet containing bar code, and applicants must take all three pages to the interview. You can find the translations of the questions on Form DS-156 in Russian and Uzbek.

Worldwide Business Visa Center Opens July 15, 2005

The Department of State is pleased to announce the latest step in our ongoing effort to better facilitate the issuance of visas for legitimate business travelers worldwide. As of July 15, the U.S.-China Business Initiative, which began as a pilot program in January, will expand into a new Business Visa Center available to assist businesses in the United States and their partners, customers and colleagues around the world.

The Business Visa Center assists American businesses by explaining the visa process when they invite employees or current and prospective business clients and partners to the United States. This involves providing information to U.S. companies about the application process for visas for those seeking to travel to the U.S. for business purposes. The Business Visa Center will work with both the companies and the consular officers, when needed, to communicate information effectively between U.S businesses and the embassies and consulates worldwide.

The Bureau of Consular Affairs will continue to maintain the list of "Upcoming Conferences" to be held in the United States on our Intranet. This list is for conferences in the U.S. that expect a large number of foreign visitors where Visa Services has received notification by the U.S. organizer of the event. The list not only provides Consular officers around the world with information on the event, but may also include a list of event participants when one is provided by the event coordinator.

Improved information for businesses and the public, in the form of up-to-date details about wait times for interviews and processing times, is available on most embassy web sites and the travel.state.gov web site. This information allows business travelers to better prepare for their interview and better plan their trip.

Whether at our more than 200 embassies or consulates abroad, or here in the United States, the Bureau of Consular Affairs continues its work to support business-related travel to the U.S. The new Business Visa Center is one more way the Department of State is actively supporting international business travel, U.S. commerce and the U.S. economy.
