i've noticed that in the West people do care about their health, they do sports, eat healthy food, go to the doctor for annual check up etc.
why our people (even those who can efford themselves) do not care about their health? no sports, eating lots of heavy food, always 'sitting' style of life, going to doctor only when they got sick or feel pain, drinking, smoking... why that?

I could write more , but shortly a normal day of Uzb people and people from West differs very much.
In General:
A normal day of Uzbek people if full of physical exercises(mostly they are more difficult than those sports done by Westerns).
A normal day of Westerns is much more passive unless they manage special time for sports.
I do not want to say that this way of life of Uzb is normal,It should be somehow corrected.;)
but there are much more reasons, later I will add.....
Notes : Uzbeklarning Ayolini 40 ta joni bor Erkagini undan ham ko'p
shunchaki esimga tushdi:
savol: Nega Ayollar Erkaklardan kura Ko'p yashashadi?
javob: Chunki ularning Xotinlari yo'q :lool:
I don't think there will be a big difference,
The people who practice sports and eat healthu food on regular bases are so little.

Uzbekhonim,
You might have meant Western Europe, when you said West. Here in US, eating healthy and being able to excercise is privilege parted only to richer group of people.
1. Lower and middle class worker has to work full time, all day, sometimes two jobs if they are getting paid minimum wage. No time to exercise, no time to cook healthy food, they have to eat at fat rich fast food (at least for lunch).
2. For instance, in Wal-Marts, lean meat costs twice as much as regular meat (which is lot more fatty). Whole grain bread, which is good for health and prevention of colonial cancer, is lot more expensive than overprocessed white bread, even whole grain bread takes less labor and processing expense. Corporate America made money selling people fatty and overprocessed food and now they are making money by spiking up the prices of relatively healthy foods.
There are other examples too. Of course, it would not be correct to apply the above stated facts to whole population of the West, as much as it would be incorrect to apply the unhealthy life style fact to all people of Uzbekistan.
Some of my relatives do farming. I don't know how much they are concerned with their health, but they work hard and eat a healthy food. They are physically fit.
However, now it came to the point that Uzbeks can't afford to eat "heavy" food. But it doesn't mean they are going healthy. I know families that buy only 1 kilogram of meat in a week. Thank God Uzbeks have bread, that is their main source of energy, fiber, vitamins, and protein.
I guess it depends where you live in the US. Some areas are known for differenent levels of healthy living. I think you guys are making generalizations. The point is- people in the US ( I don't know about Europe) do think about health. They might not do anything about it- but the media has made a big deal about trying to be healthy and skinny. It leads to things like anorexia and bulemia. Some percentage of the population tries to live health- exerceise and healthy foods in the US. I don't agree that only rich people can live healthy lifestyles in the US. It is not that expensive to eat healthy food- it just doesn't taste as good usually. The poorer people in the US generally drink and eat fast food more.
It is interesting that rich people in central asia are usually fat, while rich people in the US are usually more fit than the average population.

I could say many of them might be quite lazy. Even if they get some heart-ache they do persuade themselves it would stop in the next minute:(
I read some statistics about (fat people)
-Chicago is the fatest cities in America.
-the least fat city in America is Baltimor.
that was according to (Man's fitness magazine).
-although the French are considered the slimmests, they are growing fat by 6% for adults and 17% for children.
-in the Arab world, Kuwait is the fatest country (44% for women and 32% for men).
-America is the fatest country in the world (65% of Americans are fat).

if they have no reason to move they should understand that they can become too fat and have problems with health. they have enough money to go at least to the swimming pool, why don't they? or they are not educated enough too know that ...

i agree that people who are busy with farming do eat healthy food, breath fresh air...
but what about people who live in the cities? they go to their office in the morning, sit there the whole day, and then go back home to sit on front of the TV...

most of the Uzbek meals are quite heavy. let me remind you our "parties" (weddings, birth of a child, etc) where they give 5-7 cources of food:rolleyes: and if u take their life as a whole (even those families who eat a kilo of meat per week) it's not quite healthy (especially lives of the house wives:lol: ). don't u think so?
