Planing a short trip (max 3 days) to Edinburgh in fortnight. Could users familiar to the city help me out on setting out trip-plan. What places do I have to visit, places to stay, cost and travel tips. Would highly appreciate. I'll possibly arrive by plane in the city, might consider west cost virgin super-trains too.

Edinburgh's must see places:
- Royal Mile from the Castle to the Hollyrood Palace
- Calton Hill and Aurther's Seat
- Craigmiller Castle and Royal Yacht Britannia

Edinburgh is popular with tourist so expect things could be little expensive. I would recommend to you stay somewhere away from the city cos usually hotels around the central area are deadly expensive. There are lots of b&bs in Minto Street they're cheaper since there are lots of buses on that street you'll reach to all attractions in no time.
All musems in Edinburgh is free and there is free bus service too.
I would suggest not to buy fancy tour bus rides cos they are really expensive. Instead you can do you own tour - get normal day ticket and pick a map. Plus most places of visit is not far away so you can just walk.
If you wish to fly Edinburgh airport is just 20 min away from the city and there is special bus which takes right middle of the city
If you take a train Waverly station is on the Princess Street in the centre of the town and close to all attractions

If, any particulars PM me ... :)
