I got a friend in London who wants to come to US. He got everything staff (I-20,...) sent by US university...
He got his visa from UK as well (not illegal)
The thing I want to ask HOW MUCH CHANCE DOES HE HAVE TO GET A VISA FROM US EMBASSY IN LONDON?
Or He maybe he should go back home to Uzb?
What u guys think about it?
Has anyone ever taken visa from london to US?

You friend may go to consulate to talk to consul regarding that and may get proper answer before "screw" his passport.

European countries are strict in giving visas, but US even stricter. If there is the embassy (of US in this case), you 90% get the visa in Tashkent, cuz it is operating normally. If it were a tourist visa, would be no problem in getting it in London. For study programmes, you (I am almost sure) gotta visit Tashkent:) But again, in certain cases (like if there is a danger for you in Uzb-n), they may give it in London.
My advice: You check it out with the embassy first. Then tell us here.
Good luck

Yeah that's what I told me friend, to call consulate and ask them about chances of getting it?
In fact, there is no danger of going to Uzbekistan, he is deciding whether go here in London or Tashkent I mean chances
But do you know anybody ever got that visa from London?

I've been to the US on a couple of business trips with a visa obtained at the US Embassy in London. Slow process, usual routine, but nothing terribly scary. Check with the US Visa department, and if all documents are in order they should grant a studnent visa to your friend.

He got all the docs done already, he is appointed on may 19...
When he called embassy to ask about visa, they scheduled him on that date but not sure, they told him to look his docs and after they will decide..

Long time I've been wondering if Canadian Embassy in London can grant me visa if I applied. Or would I be able to apply for Canadian Visa from London, as we don't have one in Tashkent/Uzbekistan.
As about obtaining American Visa from London, there should not be any obstacles if the documents are right, and if the person can convince genuinely he is going there because we don't have Consular Visa in Tashkent now. In fact, i know few people who obtained Visas from US consulate in London.
Keep us informed.

I don't know what the procedure is like for Canadian visas in UK,but I remember sending my passport in mail.Canadian consulate issued me a visa and sent it back to me.I didn't even have to go for appointment, that simple.
I don't think you have to show up for the interview.

Guys,
what if he is working?
Does the embassy can check that he has worked? Coz he paid the taxes
what do you think? Does his work effect taking the visa?

I would say that his chances are the same be it in Tashkent or in UK.
I know I guy who got American F-1 student Visa in UK.
If his paperwork is all fine, why not apply in UK?
P.S. I am more than positive that the fact that he worked in UK, payed or didn't pay his taxes will not even be an issue or a reason for a rejection.

Only dosuments such I-20 and other form cannot guarantee that ur friend will get the visa. Actuallu the same thing happende with me but i got UK visa from Sweden. In order to get such visa one should have permanent student visa. otherwise with temporary visas it is not possible. i think

I don't know about Sweden, but in UK there is no such a thing as "Permament Student Visa". But normally, they strongly advise you to use USA visa consulate located in your home country for student visas. However, so I know that they issue visitor visas for those travelling for business or those travelling for urgent matters. A friend of mine recently got something sort of preliminary consideration refusal, where they didn't officially refuse, neither did they put stamp on his passport, but instead advised him that he was to apply for student visa to USA consulate/embassy in Uzbekistan. This was in August/September.

You have to think common sense, and I am sure that they do when issuing a visa. They do not want extra problems, do they?
First it sounded like an idea, to get your visa in London, instead of travelling to Uzbekistan.

a friend of mine is also thinking of getting US visa in London. But he is not sure to apply for student visa or visitor visa. Which one is much easier? getting F1 visa or B1/B2 visa? I heard that for student visa it is recommended to travel Ubekistan and apply for F1 visa? How about B1/B2 visa? thanks

Is it that easy? What type of visa did he get? I was planning to apply for a visitor visa as my sis is there, but Home Office ruined all my plans! I've already been waiting for my passport for 10 weeks! :?

Kepqoladi 2-3 kunda nasib qilsa.
2 tasi haqida eshitgandim Londonda turib US ga viza apply qilganlarning. Bir vaqtda bir muddatga apply qilishgan.
Bittasiga viza bergan ekan, bittasiga bermagan ekan.
Izohlashlariga ko'ra bittasi Parijga va Frankfurtga 2-3 kunlik shengen viza bilan borib kelgan ekan. SHuning uchun unga viza berganmish... Ikkinchisi esa hech qayoqqa chiqmagan ekan.

I think it is hard to get a US visa in UK if you live permanently in Uzbekistan.
To get non-immigrant visas to the USA you should prove your nonimmigrant intentions i.d. your relationships with ur home country should be very strong. It seems to me once you apply for a visa being in UK they will refer you to US Embassy in Tashkent. If your UK visa is expiring soon it will also be a negative factor to getting a US visa from a Consulate in UK.
