My friend (he has Orange contract) recommended this number to try calling free to Uzbekistan, given you have enough inclusive minutes and is cross-network, 07744456004. However, I have Vodafone contract, and they charge per minute. Try this number with other networks.

As far as I know, 08707940000 is for weekdays off peak times, and 08445703733 is for weekends for O2 contract owners. And at the same time if you've got just O2's sim card you can use 08445703733 as well, and it will charge you just 5 pence per min.

for uzbekistan it is 2p anytime. You call from internet, first install programme and then you need to put some money

I usually call Uzbekistan landlines/mobiles via Telediscount access number at 08717723723 and get charged 7 pence per minute 24/7. Use the TalkDirect phone-cards at times, when I'm on the move and have to use my mobile to talk home.

To call Uzbekistan from United Kingdom at 7p/minute from UK landline (not mobile) you should do this:

Dial Telediscount number 08717 72 37 23. When the robot stars to speak, dial Uzbekistan code 00998712+the ordinary 6 digit telephone number (e.g. 65-98-23). If the telephone number contains 7 digits, use this code after telediscount code: 0099871+the ordinary 7 digit telephone number (e.g. 137-87-12). Now, when you finish dialling all this, at the end, press the 'hash' button on your phone (#). Then just wait.

I hope these instructions are clear. This is the cheapest UK landline to Uzbekistan landline/mobile I know. Just 7p per minute.

It must be the "Long Weekend" (http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/o2longweekends) deal.

Thanks, referee, for the information. The problem is, the given prices are for BT users. My home phone provider is ntl:Telewest, they have different charges for special numbers.

As to myself, I'm stuck with phone cards, using First Dial Asia phonecard (5 Pounds), that gives me almost 197mins via 0207 number, @ almost 2.5 pence/minute.
