HI,
We are 4 swiss guys who want to come to Uzbekiztan this summer, but we can't find any cheap place to live in the cities we want to visit (Samarcanda, Tashkent, Bukhara). We are students and therefore have no money (just enough to buy the plane ticket), maybe somebody can help us giving us some advices. We look for any information about travelling in Uzbekistan!
Thanks in advance!

:P come on guys....if you doesn't have enough money than there is no need to travel ...first earn money...I think you have enough opportunity to do so
BTW:
small hotels costs about: $10/15 per day per person
you can also rent a room for about $25 per day

Thanks for answering. I didn't find any cheaper than 100$/night on the internet (on websites in english language), that's why I was afraid they are really expensive.
ANYWAY! If you have any advice about things and places to see or to avoid, transportations, special warnings, and so on - we would be very thankfull.

You are not looking hard enough on the internet. There are plenty of places to stay in Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent for $30 and under.
It is not a very tourist friendly place to visit and not many people can speak English there. It might be best to find a tour agency to help you out. You should be able to find one on the internet that can help.

Thanks a lot for the advices. But you give me some reasons to feel unsafe... Is Uzbekistan a dangerous country? I heard that people are mostly lovely, maybe I'm too much naive:(. I also heard that everybody speaks Russian there, isn't that true? I have some good notions of it, but I don't speak fluently, isn't it enough?
Russian should work fine. The people are nice and very friendly- the problem is that the government has become even more paranoid about foreigners lately. Also, the police like to harass tourists. The country just does not have a very good tourist infrastructure.
Rent an apartment.
You can get very nice 2-bdr apt in Tashkent for less than $50 per day if you are renting per day basis.
And don't forget to register. You are required to register with local authorities upon arrival.
Delf.

Buy a Lonely Planet guide to Central Asia from your local bookstore. It lists places in Tashkent and Bukhara for less than 10 bucks a night. Uz is one of the safest countries in the world, so dont worry.
