I didn't want to put this in sports section, because I thought this was very interesting and we can be proud with such devoted fans...

Uzbek Fans Ride 6500 km for Oliver Kahn’s Autograph

Two Uzbek soccer fans rode more than 6500 km on bicycle from Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent to Berlin in order to get an autograph of German team spare goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, Izvestia daily newspaper reported Tuesday.

The goalkeeper of “Bavaria” learned about his Uzbek fans, Akram Marfuzhonov and Musadzon Hornidov, from the local newspaper and said he has been shocked. “I can’t believe it, it’s inconceivable!” - Kahn said.

Although the goalkeeper was very busy on the eve of the Championship, he found time to meet with his admirers.

“It the greatest honor for me to meet with you, Mr. Kahn” - said deeply touched Marfuzhonov.

The two friends had started their trip to Berlin, where the World Soccer Championship 2006 takes place, in March.

This year the former goalkeeper of combined German soccer team and then a goalkeeper of Munich “Bavaria”, Oliver Kahn is playing for the German national team in the World Soccer Championship. This the fourth time Kahn takes part in Soccer Championship.

Avvalambor, bu insonning familiyasi Ma'rufjonov bo'ladi.

Men bu yangilikni ertalab o'qigandim. Ammo, Oliver Kaan bu o'zbeklar haqida qaysi mahalliy gazeta orqali xabar olganini afsuski aniqlay olmadim...

Tarjimon rus bo'lganidan keyin, o'zbekchani bilmaganidan keyin ruscha gapirmasdan qirg'izcha gapirsinmi?
Menimcha ularni Kanga aynan qaysi tilda murojaat qilganini mavzuga umuman dahli yo'q edi va buni maqolaga suqishtirishni keragi yo'q edi, uning o'rniga ularni ismi sharifini to'g'ri yozib olsa yaxshiroq bo'lardi.....
Qoyilman ularga. Ammo ko'nglimda bir tahmin bor, menimcha ular aynan Kanni ko'rish uchun emas umuman jahon chempionatini ko'rish uchun borishgan, keyin Kan bilan ko'rishganda uning yuzidan o'tolmasdan "ataylab sizni ko'rgani keldik" devorishgan birorda o'yinga biletlik bo'lib qolish ilinjida :lool:

Uzbeks Pedal Incredible Lengths to Meet Hero Kahn

Two fanatical football fans completed a remarkable 6,500 kilometres bike journey from Uzbekistan to Berlin to get the autograph of their hero, German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.

According to a report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, Akram Marufshonow and his friend Musadshon Chornidow, both 58, embarked on their journey from the Uzbekistan capital Tashkent on March 8, not to see their team play -- Uzbekistan is not in the tournament -- but to engage in a little hero worship.

The autograph hunters braved rain and snow as they cycled over 4,000 miles to Germany via Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland, doing part-time jobs to pay for food.

"Our hands and faces were blue at times it was that cold," Akram revealed. "But I am not leaving without Kahn's autograph."

Wish fulfilled

Kahn, who was voted most valuable player at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea even though he lost the top goalie spot in this tournament to Jens Lehmann, was amazed to hear of the young fans' cross-continent journey in order to meet him and agreed to meet them in Berlin

The Uzbekistan duo watched the World Cup curtain-raiser between Germany and Costa Rica on June 9 at the Berlin fan mile located next to the Brandenburg Gate and on Friday they got their wish granted.

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Kahn was pictured smiling as he signed his name to make Akram and Musadshon's dreams come true.

"My heart is racing I am overjoyed," confessed Akram.

Kahn, who turned 37 on Thursday, admitted their story had touched him, saying: "I can not believe it. It is incredible."

PS: "TERMINAL" (Tom Hanks) filmini eslatdi manga bu voqea, u erda ham bir jazzchidan dastxat olaman deb, qancha azoblar chekkan film qahramoni. Lekin bularning (Akrom aka bilan film qaxramoni) o'rtasidagi farqi - Filmda qahramonning otasi (g'irt Akrom akaga o'xshagan odam ekan) vasiyatnomasida o'g'liga tayinlagan bo'ladi, "o'sha jazzchidan dastxat olib kelasan" deb.
