Recently, I don't know why, I started putting banana slices on almost every sandwich I make. It's fantastic with roast beef and cheese, and right now I'm eating turkey with Havarti and banana slices. Not only bananas, I sometimes have grilled pineapple slices too. For meaty sandwiches I can't find anything better than fruits, and surely bit of fresh salad.

Also, I love Greek yogurt spread with onion bhaji and humous and fresh chili slices. In chicken sandwich I always use 1000 island sauce and fresh red onions, with a bit of cucumber and fresh salads.

Anybody else have any suggestions? Comments? Experiences? Or, please post your favorite, preferred, original recipe sandwiches.

Have a good day! :)

I love tuscani chicken sandwich with all it's gadgets from Panera Bread :)

As far as what I do at home is most of the time I use Smoked Chicken or Smoked fish on Rye/Whole Grain bread put sliced tomatoes, cucumers, cilantro, a little salt or I just put some nice sliced dilled pickles. I do not like dressings for my sandwich. Infact, I try to stay away from dressings overall.

If I have bolonga then I just use cream cheese to top it up and good to go :)

Fruit on a sandwich sounds a little sweet for me :) but I've seen a lot of my friends do that; fruit on sandwich, fruit in a salad, etc.

How about a fresh slice of pineapple in a meaty sandwich, does it taste anyhow good to you? Uhm, I liked it.

LOL. I never thought of making sandwiches at home.I always tried to cook something which you can't find outside. As for sandwiches, i like plain tuna sandwich with chipotle sause from subway.

Guardian, I am amazed how smart and almost serious the sandwich thread turned out.
I never make sandwiches home. I do not consider them food. So If I am home, I cook something which I can call food. Sandwiches, pizza and other stuff I take "to go"

Augh! Subway? Doesn't go for me. Just another McDonald's type company with miniature ingredients, plus they're much unhealthy and even more expensive. Do you know how the Subways are supplied ingredientswise? Their bread are done somewhere noone knows, and kept hell knows for how long, the meat they use aren't good for sensitive people ... I tend not to eat sandwiches done outside, thus bringing all my favourite ingredients home and preparing my own snack goes quite well for me.

Good sandwich for the saharlik, before fasting.

Cut a bread roll, open inside, butter both sides (inside parts) of the bread, fill it with cheddar cheese, meat (chicken/beef salami), more cheese on top of the meat. Put it in panini maker or you could keep in oven/grill till the cheese is melt. Be fast, open the roll quickly before it gets too cold, fill your favourite salads (in my case fresh sliced tomatoes and alfa-alfa sprouts). Ready to go!

Don't forget the dua, afterwards!

Drink: Take the biggest mug. :D Pour milk till 4/3 full, microwave it for 1-1,5 minutes till it comes to near boil, add a spoonful of chocolate (cacao) powder, your sugar preference. Stir it well. Makes good breakfast companion for the morning sandwich.

Tortlla wrap sandwich.

Take a tortilla wrap, warm it in microwave for 10-15 seconds, put on a flat surface and fill your favourite toppings on it. (in my case i mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, cooked chicken fillets, shredded cheese, dash of chili sauce) Wrap it nicely, and yum-mi!
