How many years it's going to take to get a US citizenship once you've became a permanent resident? I apologize for moving away from original question of the following thread.

depends on your case.Usually 3 years,but could take up to 5 years.There are different kinds of cases such as marriage,company sponsored green card.

This is my personal opinion, note that I am not a legal representative or a lawyer. I am just sharing my opinion.


Must have resided in US for min 5 years (married USC for 3 years) as a LPR
Paid Federal and local Taxes (including alimony, support..)
Never committed a crime
Never gotten involved in espionage or terrorism
Must be registered at Selective Service or served in US Army if you were called
No polygamy
Must have a good moral and behavior
Must speak English and know the history and respect the US property & people and protect the US Constriction
No prostitution ..

Sevinch, uzbekistan doesnt have double nationality. If you get US citizenship, US wouldnt care if you are citizen of Uzb or not, but you want to get your uzbek citizenship back, you will have to renounce your US citizenship.

On the other hand, If you get a US citizenship then you are guaranteed US embasy protection in any country, including Uzb. So, if someone starts pressuring you, the US diplomatic mission wil lhave to intervene

If you regurarly plan to visit Uzb, it's better to stay with GC, anyway GC gives you almost the same privileges as citizenship. after you get US citizenship, there may be problems entering Uzb. its up to you to decide.
