Dear forum users! Can you share with your experience on how to get a birth certificate from an Uzbek consulate for a U.S. born child if both parents are Uzbek citizens? We have a U.S. issued bith certificate and also want to get an Uzbek birth certificate. I know that the law "On citizenship of RoU" guarantees Uzbek citizenship for children (irrespective where they were born) if both parents hold Uzbek citizenship and prohibits dual citizenship. We want the child have both U.S. and uzbek birth certificates. How long will it take to receive a birth certificate? Will the child still keep a U.S. citizenship? Oldindan katta rahmat.

Do not get me wrong but how do you think it is possible for a US born child to be stated as if he was also born in Uzbekistan :? I just simply think it is impossible. Like yourself, (according to Uzbek laws) your child has to reject US citizenship in order to become citizen of Uzbekistan.

Well, I don't think it's a problem if the uzbek birth certificate states that the child was born in States. Also, how a child can reject US citizenship if he does not hold a US passport?

OooooK, Birth Certificate is only issued by a state/country of birth. Likewise, a child born in Yunus Abad region will not be able to obtain a birth certificate from Hamza region, regardless where he lives or his citizenship.
Your child cannot reject US citizenship until he is old enough to do so. However, you can do it for him as his legal guardian.
US passport is a travel passport. Hence, your baby needs it in order to travel to different countries. Not having one does not necessarily mean that he is not a US citizen :)
You can still take your baby to live with you in Uzbekistan. You are his parents and you have a right to do so. Do not reject his right to US citizenship. Let him decide for himself when he turns 16.

O'zbekistonning USdagi elchixonasiga borasiz, oilangizda farzand tug'ilgani haqida ariza yozasiz va "tug'ilganlik haqida guvohnoma" berishlarini so'raysiz. Arizaga qo'shib bitta forma berishadi shuni to'ldirasiz (nima qilib yuribsiz USda, adresingiz, kasbingiz, Uzb'dagi manzilingiz, passport danniylari va hokazo), keyin farzand chindan ham tug'ilgani haqida tug'ruqxonadan spravka (yoki o'sha US birth certificate) va zags qog'ozini ilova qilib, konsullik bo'limiga topshirasiz. O'sha kuni (yoki konsulning kayfiyatiga qarab 2 kun/1 hafta/qanchadir muddatdan so'ng Tug'ilganlik haqidagi guvohnomani olib ketasiz. 10$ fee bor edi adashmasam, keyin onasining pasporti va yangi chaqaloqning 2ta 3/4 rasmini bersangiz, passportga yozib berishadi. Shu pasport asosida (va albatta o'zbekcha tug'ilganlki haqidagi guvohnoma bilan) bilan bolani bemalol O'zbeksitonga olib borishingiz mumkin. Faqat O'zbekistondan qaytishda OVIRni boshqatdan olish kerak bo'ladi. Birga boradiganlar degan joyiga shu bolani yozib berishadi.
Bo'ldi manimcha. Eng yaxshisi, bularning hammasini elchixonaga telefon qilib konsul bilan maslahatlashish kerak. Nimalar kerakligini o'sha batafsil tushuntiradi.

This might be true if a child was born in Uzbekistan. Information on Consular Section says we can obtain birth certificates from them for children born outside Uzbekistan.

I agree with you that it is up to him to decide when he reaches legal age.

Uzb_futboli, batafsil tushuntirganingiz uchun katta rahmat. Albatta Elchixonaga telefon qilib yana surishtiraman. Afsuski, Elchixona bizdan uzoqda. Shuning uchun hujjatlarni pochta orqali jo'natsam kerak. Ammo hujjatlarni Elchixoanda ko'rib chiqishlari cho'zilib ketmasmikin deb uylayapman. Shuning uchun boshqalarning tajribasini va fikrini oldindan olib, harakat qilmoqchiman.

I am not sure how 'elchixona' is going to issue you certificate of birth. They can legalize/translate original ceritificate into uzbek and put your child in one of your passport but they will not issue you a brand new certificate (the one you have since you were born in Uzbek territory)
Good luck with consulate office! :)

Agar Toshkentdan Amerikaga qaytadigan bulsangiz muammolar paydo bulishi mumkin. Passport kontrolda chaqaloq uchun baribir amerikani passporti kerak buladi. Uzbekistonda esa 2 fuqarolik noqonuniy hisoblanadi.

Shawn, I suggest you to be careful with this. They say regardless where your baby is born, he is considered to be an uzbek citizen. There is another law that does not allow your baby to have a dual citizenship. Why dont you just get the travel passport for your baby?

I know that dual citizenship is not allowed, but since he was born here he automatically became a US citizen and not because of his own will. How Embassy issues a birth certificate I don't know either. The reason why I want to obtain an Uzbek birth certificate is because there may be some problems in entering/exiting Uzbekistan. Do they issue travel passports for children here? Wouldn't there be problems on Uzbek border?

Mana shu joyini batafsilroq tushuntirsangiz, Passport kontrolda nimaga problema bulishi mumkin? Toshketndan USga qaytganda Uzbek passportidagi OVIR vizasi etarli bo'lmaydimi, yoki chaqaloqning Amerika passporti bilan chiqqan ma'qulmi? Umuman, USda chaqaloqqa birth certificate dan tashqari passport olsa bo'ladimi?

Uzbekistondan chiqib ketvotganda har doim chegarachilar visa statusni tekshirishadi. Agar amerikani passporti bilan chiqib ketvotgan bulasngiz, demak uzbekistonga kirganizda, kirganlik haqida passportda muhr bulsihi kerak va OVIRda registraciyadan utish shart. Shu narsalar bulmasa visa va registraciya qoidalari buzilgan deyishlari mumkin.
Uzb passsporti bilan Uzbekistonga kirvotganda ham amerika visasi/grin kartani chegarachilar tekshirishlari mumkin.
Endi amerikadagi passport kontrolga kelsak, chaqaloq amerikaga kirish uchun amerikani passporti bulishi shart, birth certificate etarli emas.
ikki fuqarolik haqida bu topicda ham uqisangiz buladi: http://forum.arbuz.com/showthread.php?t=32155

mini_ qovoq is right :) read that link. Apply for US passport for your baby ASAP. There will no problem on getting one. You can also apply for a SSN for him/her. Clame your taxes including your baby, get some tax breaks :)

Hello,
You will have to obtain a us passport for your chils. You can do a google search for passport for child and get info. If you are in a large us city you mayhave a local office you can obtain one. You and your spouse will also need to get visitor ubeck visas for each of you to travel to Uzbekistan if you are us citizens. if you are still a Uzbekistan citizen and on a us green card you do not need a visa for uzbekistan. Note Your child will need a us passport and a Uzbekistanvisitor visa. If you are all moving back to Uzbekistan and your child is a us citizen you can apply for a Uzbeckistan green card upon your return. Eventually your child can become a uz citizen but will not be able to be a dual citizenship status. uzbekistan law prohibits this. Mike
