Hello everybody! I'm planning to leave for Netherlands, have an invitation from friends. Is there anyone who can list me the documents that should be presented to Ambassador? Does anyone know the price of an airticket?
Thanks to everyone who replies!

Where are you? In Tashkent? or in some other country? If you are in Tashkent, I do not think it will be so easy to get the visa.
Also you are going to have an interview with Council who is charge with visa procedure. I dont think that the ambassador does that kind of job. :)

Here what I found: Nationals of countries in Group IV who wish to come to the Netherlands for a period of less than three months need a visa. Short-stay visas are issued by the countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement. A short-stay visa entitles you to spend up to three months in any or all of the following countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Germany, France, Austria, Greece, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

Procedure

To obtain a visa, you must apply in person to the Netherlands embassy or consulate in your home country (or the country in which you legally reside). The procedure involves completing a standard Schengen application form and presenting all the relevant documents. Processing your application can take up to three months. Be sure to request a visa on time.

Remember: if you are in the Netherlands on a short-stay visa, you can never stay longer than three months or be issued a residence permit! If you want to stay longer, you need to follow the procedure for an authorization for temporary stay.

Documents required when applying for a short-stay visa

In all cases you will need to present:
a valid travel document

items substantiating the purpose of your trip (e.g. a letter of invitation from the host institution)

proof that you have enough money to support yourself (about ˆ 35 a day) during your stay and to travel back home or to a third country.

For an exact list of all required documents, please consult the website of the Dutch embassy in your home country or the country in which you legally reside.

Administration fees for short-stay visa

When you apply for a short-stay visa, you have to pay a handling fee (administration fee). Applying for a one-month visa costs ˆ 25, and applying for a two- or three-month visa costs ˆ 30. Paying the fee does not automatically mean that your application for a visa will be granted! The fee must be paid even if your application is turned down.

Visa Regulations
The visa department is open to the public from Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 am to 10.00 am for visa applications. The visa department is closed on local and Dutch public holidays.
Visa applications have to be introduced IN PERSON.
When you are planning to travel to the Netherlands, do not wait until the last moment to apply for your visa. Remember, a visa application can take upto two months, there is always the possibility of your application being forwarded to the Netherlands Immigration Authorities who are then responsible for the decision.
Applications for visa short stay (maximum three months) normally take three working days (e.g. introduction on Monday, decision on Wednesday). EXEMPTIONS ARE NOT MADE ! On Friday’s visa’s are not being issued.
In case your application is denied, you will receive a refusal letter in which it is mentioned how appeal against the refusal. Inquiries concerning refusals by sponsors or non participants is due to Dutch Law not possible. (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens)
It is advisable to apply in time in order to have your visa application processed.
General
The Netherlands is not an immigration country. Foreign nationals visiting the Netherlands can be divided in two categories: those wishing to visit the Netherlands for a short period not exceeding three months, and those wishing to stay for a longer period. Holders of a Kenyan passport require a visa for the Netherlands. Other nationals may require a visa and should inquire at this embassy.
Information on short-stay visas (3 months or less)
The Schengen visa is valid for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Finland.
A Schengen visa issued by an Embassy or Consulate of one of the Schengen countries allows the holder to travel freely in these countries. However, please note that a holder of a Schengen visa is still subject to immigration control and is not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries; a visa is not in itself a right to enter a country.
Where should I apply?
• If you intend to visit only one of the Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of that country.
• If you intend to visit several of the Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country in which you will stay the longest.
• If you intend to visit several Schengen countries without having a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the first Schengen country on your travel itinerary that requires you to have a visa.
Visits longer than three months duration
Foreign nationals, who intend to stay in the Netherlands for a period longer than three months should apply for a temporary stay permit (MVV) at this Embassy. The applicant must submit certain documentation in relation to the application for a temporary stay permit. Please enquire at this Embassy for relevant details.
Employment in the Netherlands
In accordance with the Employment of Foreign Workers Act, an employer cannot employ a foreigner without an employment permit from the regional Employment Office. The employer must first fill a vacancy from the pool of available job applicants in the Netherlands. Subsequently it must be determined if applicants from other member states of the European Union are available. Only after these two applicant-pools are exhausted can subjects from other countries be eligible for an employment permit. One can apply for an employment permit only after a residence permit application (VTV) has been submitted to the aliens police department in the town in which the foreigner will be settling. Prior to this, an application for a temporary stay permit (MVV) has to be submitted to the Embassy.
Please note that the Embassy cannot provide assistance in matters relating to employment, such as providing addresses of possible employment opportunities, labour conditions and so on.
Which documents must I submit?

don't you just get Schengen visa for Netherlands? That is exactly what my friend did in 2003. I think she went to French embassy or smth.
And I think we do have a dutch consulate, actually. I am not sure if they do visas or not. the dutch council was also involved in some kind of banking and investment business in 2003, i think he was somehow involved in ABN Amro Bank in Tashkent.
