Dear HALK,

I have been so desperate to find out about the interest rates in Uzbekistan, so searched every possible internet site for it. all efforts in vain :(

Does anyone know about short term interest rates in UZBEKISTAN. What rate do we have now? Does the Central BAnk use it as an instrument to control the monetary policy? ???

still desperate...

last summer working for the national bank, i noticed couple of plans offered by the bank.
for instance, a 6-month saving account would earn about 38%; checking account with that bank would generate 27%! of interest on the initial cash flow in a 12-month.
some simple calculation (knowing the other indicators like current inflation rate and risk free rate) migth help you to come up with a fairly acceptable answer.

g'luck

p.s., i've restored those figures from my memory, so i can't say they are exact but pretty close

Futbolchi,

For the current interest rates used for the monetary policy and other stuff, go to

http://www.daewoobank.com/current.htm

For the past data, go to

http://www.imf.uz
or
http://www.cer.uz

From IMF's site, you can download the country report for Uzbekistan. You can find all kind of data on that report.

You also can find that kind of data on CER's page.
