guys, i gotta situation here in the US with USCIS: i came here with J1, before expiration of I-94 i applied for B2 (it was on September29, 2006). And now i'ma still waiting for their decision- even though processing date of my case has already passed, my case is still in pending. I tried to get more info by calling customer service;however, they didn't tell more than i could see online..
Besides, i gotta school here starting in May,2007, where i'm already accepted.
Do you think i should wait a little more for their response or i should fly back in order to get student visa from embassy in tashkent?
I'd really appreciate ur advice.

When your application pending you still in legal status but when you apply for b-2 there is section that says you should apply at least 30* days before if you did so you will be ok!
When I applied for b-2 I got my approval after 5 months! But I did not use it because I already left USA by that time.
*- I don`t remember exact day!

Wassup, resident?
as i understand u, u also ponce applied for B2, but left the USA before getting ur resut from USCIS. However, they still approved ur visa, if u had left by that time!? i wonder if u did encounter any difficulties passing the US border before departing and while applying for another visa (i guess for F1?) in the US embassy in Tashkent?
i'd appreciate ur response,buddy

Nope I did not have any problems while passing the border. I applied for H1B.
