U.S. Relationship

Tried searching for this and couldn't find it. Can anyone give me some input on the relationship between uzbekistan and the united states. I know that we were friends but i read somewhere that its now lukewarm. Any info would be appreciated.

Google for Strategic Partnership between Uzbekistan and US (2002) as well as remarks of US Department of State regarding Andijan events and withdrawal from Khanabad airbase. These stories will tell a lot. Also, almost all US non-profit organizations were closed in Uzbekistan (OSI, IREX, ACCELS, etc etc) as well as several large industrial companies.

Thanks for the info, i knew about the Andijan incident from my fiance. Hopefully our 2 countries can eventually work things out.
