View Full Version : H1B Cap
All international students [technically] now cannot stay in the U.S. to work after graduation since, as far as I am concerned, the majority of schools are still in session and therefore companies must have not had a chance to apply for H1B visas for their incoming graduates (H1B cap).
Luckily, I was automatically transferred to start in London, but I am concerned as to how others are dealing with this situation? Has there been an instance of companies rejecting offers because of it?

A friend of mine had an offer from one of the Investment Banks, but something went wrong and he was transferred to London as well.I guess companies are rejecting offers because of the H1B cap.
I just wonder if they can come back, but I guess the process will be more painful.
I have heard that Congress is expected to approve additional issues of H1B visas, because they were so heavily oversubscribed.

Do you mean that there have been adopted new rules, which make it difficult to obtain H1B visas?
and by the way... what does (H1B) cap mean?

Can you please clarify why int-l students can not now stay in the U.S. to work after graduation? When you said "..technically now can not...", did you point according to new rules?
My wife was approved for H1B, my employer promised for the next fiscal year, so I am back to school for one year and probably be on CPT. Luckily we have some schools to which you can apply today and get admission tomorrow.
