I was recently told, that when typing it is correct to put 2 spaces after a full stop. Have you heard of that rule? Do you follow it?

As far as I know, it is one space after the period (full stop).
Two spaces after the full stop called French spacing, i think, used in typewriting. (but not anymore, not sure)

Before 1991 it was two spaces and after 1991 become one space. However there are organizations and universities that still prefer two spaces. I would go with whatever writing style is used by your university or organization. There is a no right answer to this unfortunately....:D

Ok, thanks, got it. In the Uni, we do not have any rules or restrictions. It's just we are writing a group assignment and one of the girls said that it is a rule and we all have to follow it :) I also made some research on that issue and it comes out that they used it in typewriting, but new computer fonts developers take that into consideration and there is enough space after a period.

Well in University i studied they were adamant about one space. But where I work our writing guide says two spaces. So I would just check with your prof.
