Arizona woman delivers sextuplets
PHOENIX, June 12 (UPI) -- A cheer went up in the delivery room of a Phoenix hospital when an Arizona woman gave birth to healthy sextuplets.
The three boys and three girls, weighing between 2 and 3 pounds each, were delivered a minute apart Monday by a team at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, The Arizona Republic reported.
"We anticipated problems. Nothing happened," Dr. John Elliot, medical director of maternal-fetal medicine at Good Samaritan, told the Republic. "It was about as good as you could draw up."
Parents of the babies are Jenny and Bryan Masche of Lake Havasu, Ariz.
Despite a gestational age of only 30 weeks and four days, doctors said all of the infants appeared to be in good health.
