World stars to Turkish Super League

In last years Turkish clubs started to bring world stars to league. Ortega, Hagi, Ricardinho, Conзecao, Alex, Marcelinho, Kezman, Anelka, Carew... was played in TSL. In this transfer session, Robeto Carlos goes to Fenerbahce, Linderoth goes to Galatasaray... and Besiktas is dating with Makalele...

What do u think that such stars' coming to a second level football league like TSL, can those improve the quality of the league or make other players (who earn less money than those stars but play with same perfonmance) unhappy?...

Actually, they generally cause some crisis in teams. Because they get extraordinary moneys from clubs but there are some players who play like them and get less money. This affects the team's performance...

huh, of course the turkish league as well as the russian one is spending too much money to improve the quality, but i dont think that by coming of old stars like R. Carlos turkish leagues (..or russian) quality gets better. R Carlos is quite old to play in Spain and only countries like TUrkey and RUssia and of course arabic teams can offer so much money just for a brand but not for a play...

as for Galatasarays Linderoth i dont even have an idea who the hell he is...:rolleyes:

It was definitley for advertising but he is still Roberto Carlos and will probably be one of the best left backs in the Turkish league. I am guessing he stills runs fairly well and can still crush the ball when necessary.

All those "stars" came to Turkey at the dusk of their careers... Sure, some of them such as Ortega, Anelka, Rebrov were not old, but the truth is that clubs in top-5 championships were reluctant to pay good money for those guys...

Therefore, I am convinced that these players are there just for marketing purposes...

exactly, if you research those "stars" you would find out they all came near the end of their carrieire just for lots of money + having a great holyday as you did say it.

I think people who know what football is should watch Serdar Kurtulus in Besiktas. If I were a manager I would choose Serdar as a defender-defensive midfielder instead of R.Carlos...

But Carlos is a star... The winner of the 3 champions league... He has reputation beyond repute... Basically, Fenerbahce paid for his past successes and marketing purposes... Young stars from Brazil and Argentina would unlikely attract more people to the stadium... U know what I mean...
