I'm just interested in what kind of questions you were asked when you were hiring for a job position. Any logical or funny, math problems, stupid, serious, tricky and other questions like that? How are you supposed to behave during the interview?

Thank you. :)

Behave confident and feel free while enduringly keep in mind what your interviewer wants to hear from you. You should show off and present yourself as a person, which they really need. Such approach is suitable for those who have experience or expertise in a certain field. However, if you have no expertise and enough experience, then try to prove that you are hardworking, creative, posses a feel of responsibility, have a passion to learn and to implement new knowledge in a practice.
In my personal observations I noticed that full interviews consists of three parts: introduction to your academic and professional background/experience, after that in the second part you will be asked some professional questions, testing your knowledge, your logic or quick wits, ability to communicate the message and your possible behavior in different situations, and at final third stage you will talk about life values, your future plans as concerning your career so as your family, interviewer may ask you about your relatives.

When I was applying for public sector, in both cases my chef, interviewer, made stress on the third part of interview. There were almost no questions regarding my knowledge or ability of thinking. Maybe because of my diploma and low demand for these positions (I am UMID student and have to work out 5 years for the State). Anyway, we talked about life values and condition of work, after what I was admitted for job. However, when I was applying to private sector (during my University studies), interviewers emphasized on the first and second part of the interview. Therefore, if you go for position of accounting, then be ready to hear questions like what is accrual accounting, can be depreciation a source of company investment fund, etc; in banks they can ask you to explain how reinvestment rate is determined and what act regulates investment activity in country, etc.

So, you see, you should expect what sort of questions they can ask, in order to know or at least to be aware how to deal with them.

Good luck!

My friend when giving me the project: "Dude, you think you can do it?"
Me: "Dude, it's a bit complicated, but I think I can handle it".
My friend: "OK, I will call you on Wednesday then to see how things go".
Me: "OK, talk to you on Wednesday".

tell us about 5 your weaknesses???

what to tell??

Delf

5 weaknesses?

1. I am too kind. I always help people in trouble and sometimes it takes lots of time and effort.
2. I am too generous. And that drains my budget quite a bit for gifts and stuff.
3. I am too honest. Even when telling the truth is against my best interests.
4. I am too humble. On past job I have not asked for a salary increase for 2 years.
5. I am too social. People call me on the phone all the time.

These are my weaknesses. Do you want me to start eliminating them as soon as I can? :D

So what did you answer?
What if I say that I would like to be a bird? (bird is not an animal, but that would be my true answer.)

Why do they ask such questions?

they dont ask such questions. there are tons of websites and im sure there should be online resources in your school's career page. make use of them and it's much helpful then asking here and getting that kind of stupid answers. good luck!

I don't need tons of resources now. I'm interested in the experience of people here.
Good luck to you, too.

I was asked to draw a house of my dream for 3 minutes.

It was a psychological question assessing aspiration of interviewee to family building, welfare,a sense of stability, breeding……

The right answer is to draw a family, a simple house, the sun, birds and tree.

Another question was to classify Cinderella from fairy as
a. person shirking rough or dirty work
b. damned wretch
c. pretender
d. selfish person

"If you were an animal ...." question,

They don't care what animal you choose, as long as you can explain WHY? They just want to put you under pressure and see how you react.

If the job description states "HARD WORKING REQUIRED" clause You can even say you are like "donkey", because donkeys usually work hard ( at least in Uzbekistan :) ).

Questions that I cant stand:

- Describe us any conflict situation with your colleague and how you handled it; and
- What was the most challenging task (project) that you've had. Why did it seem difficult to you. And how did you handle it.

Anyone else experienced same questions? What was your response?

Since I never had serious conflicts with colleages, I asked a school career advisor what should I answer in such cases. She recommended making up some story and use it at all interviews.

The questions that I can't stand- describe your role as a team menber and what was your contribution?
phuck contribution, as a team member I flipped burgers aight? I had to flip a lot of burgers for phat and hungry asses. That was my contribution to the team.
Another question, Did you do any mistakes? Of caurse I did. I ain't no saint. I didn't screw though.

Found this at one of career advice website. It was provided as a sample anwer to "why do you want to work for our company" question. I feel offended..

Q: Why do you want to work with us
A: Although some companies are replacing Americans with imported low-wage workers, you are standing tall. This company's successful strategies, good reputation and values make it heads and shoulders above its competition.

I like the following question: "Why do you think that you are better than other candidates?"

That's a tricky question. People usually start emphasizing their merits and "unique" experiences... NEVER DO THAT!!!

In the US u'd better say sth like: "I dont know anything about other candidates and their competencies, therefore, I am unable to judge. Moreover, it's your prerogative to judge, whereas I am aware of the fact that there could be better candidates. However, my background and expertise strictly match your requirements and I do consider myself as a suitable candidate for this position." (different versions are possible)

In Scandinavian countries you'd better say: "I am not better than other candidates. I'm just a hardworking, dependent TEAM PLAYER." (different versions are possible)

And so on and so forth. Employers' expectations vary significantly from country to country. Keep it in mind!!!

And much depends on the way you say that... Practice confidence and composure, however, avoid being a robot. Personal touch helps...

Have a nice day!!!
