Luggage restrictions @ AEROFLOT!?

Does anyone know what is the luggage limitations for flying from NYC-Tas-NYC thru AEROFLOT? How many pieces weighing how much is allowed? I heard they allow 2 suitcases - 23kg each? How about carry on bag limitaions?

Is it the same as in O'zb.Havo Yollari?

If anyone knows please share with the information!

Elvie, I wish I had seen your post yesterday :) I was seeing off my aunt yesterday and she was flying JFK-SVO-TAS with Aeroflot. We had figured she could take two pieces 32 kilos each... We were wrong. It was really funny to find out she could take only two pieces 23 kilos (50lb) each, so we had to pay additional $$ for the luggage overweight.

So, with due responsibility, I confirm Aeroflot limitations are 2 pieces 23kg each.

How about carry on's? How many bags, weighing how much - was you aunt able to take with her? They say it's only 1 bag - 10kg, but I am kinda thinking they are probably not so ristrictive about carry on bags?

Also, just wondering how much did you guys had to pay for overweigt?

My aunt had one bag with her which was no more than 3 kilos. I am not sure about carry ons, but I am sure that as long as the bag or whatever you have in your hands is of reasonable dimensions, they don't really care about the weight and of course, you can't take anything liquids with you aboard.

How it come that Aeroflot's flights are cheaper? Why didn't you choose anything better?

No problemo, senor, glad to help. We were 30 pounds overweight, but the girl who was in charge of the luggage line cooperated a little and we got some discount and ended up paying $50. I assume that if we paid for 30lbs, we'd pay little more than that, but even JFK employees are regular people, talk to them, they'll cut off some weight and you'll be fine, but again, the general assumption is that 30lbs overweight cost $50. Have a safe flight.

We checked with airport and they told us u are allowed to take 2 check in (50 lb each)and 2 carry on(doesn't state exactly). u have to pay $50 if it between 51-70lb, u have to pay $127 if u have third one, doesn;t matter how much it weighs.

last year, I did not have any problem until Almaty, did not pay a penny. but, at Almaty airport they did not let me take one of my carry on with me, cause of the reason that it doesn;t fit into the overhead (stupid). had to pay them :x. check before going if u dont wonna pay alot. the carry on sizes also differ from one airline to another.
