Personally, I'm more of a beer/whiskey guy, and therefore not that familiar with wines. However, I'd definitely like to hear from those who know more about this subject.
TOPIC: What is your favorite wine? What are the best/worst combinations of wine and meals? What factors should one consider when purchasing a bottle of wine in order to fully enjoy it?

ya bolshaya poklonnica krasnogo vina ;). Kak pravilo deystvuet osnovnoy princip: krasnoe vino k temnomu myasu, beloe - k ribe, k svetlomu myasu.
Razlichayutsya vina na stolovie i kachestvennie - ne znayu pravilno li ya perevela na russkiy (na nem. - Qualitätswein). Pri etom - suhoe vino schitayetsya bolee iziskannim i dorogim. Chem slashe vino - tem deshevle.
Nu i razumeetsya moi lubimiy sort - Bordeaux... i samie luchshe vina - iz Franciyi. No est zamechatelnie sorta takje v Germaniyi, Italiyi i Chili.
Ne berus govorit za znatoka, no po-moemu kachestvennoe krasnoe vino na stenkah bokala nekotoroe vremya ostavlyaet razvodi, a ne stekaet kak voda. :? Da i eshe vino pyut, ne glotaya srazu - chtob vo rtu razvilsya vkus...

Вино саммый вредный из спертных напитков - если пить регулярно или больше одного бакала за присест.
он, особо сильно действует на печень, чем водка, пиво, вистки. особено плох красное вино.
поэтопу предпочитають пить хорошую водку,
вино можно - иногда и не много, один бокал за вечер

Честно говоря, рекламировать алкоголь - не понравится многим знающим меня друзьям на форуме.
Но вино имеет отдельное место. Щас наверно Немец-ака сюда забредет и всё досконально напишет, так что остальные долго не смогут прийти в себя :)
Для меня вино - ассоциируется с Грузией.

А грузины живут долго потому что живут в горах, а не потому что пьют вино
У нас в узбекистане в горах люди живут тоже до 100 лет и без вина...
И не надо спаивать студентов, и вообще понятие женского пития и муржского это разные веши
женщина может понюхать вино и ей хватить
а вот по мужски то обязателно надо пропустить пору бакалов)))

Всё что вы покупаете в магазинах по цене ниже 7-8 баксов, я предпочитаю выливать в раковину, ну на крайняк иногда в готовку уходит при тушении мяса.
Самые лучшие вина которые я пил- это самоддельные. Самое лучшее вино в моей жизни- это настоящая самоддельная Кванчкара из Грузии.
Я бы не пожалел 50-ти баксов сейчас за литр этого вина. Да да, ту которую ногами грузинки месили и в дубовых бочках держали для себя, а не для продажи. То есть тюнинговый вариант- а не серийный.
Самые НЕлюбимые серийные вина в доступных ценовых пределах (до 15-20 баксов) для меня- немецкие и франзуские.
Самы любимые в доступных ценовых пределах - испанские, южноафриканские, португальские, в общем те, где много солнца.
Самое лучшее дешёвое серийное вино, которое я пил- узбеккий Амар Хаям.
Потом расскажу почему плохи серийные вина.
А пока посмотрите, как я люблю пить выдержанное испанское немолодое терпкое вино с хорошо выдержанным Хамоном

Я в последнее время предпочитаю пить редко(раз в неделю или две бокал), но очень качественное вино. Всякие уксусные 2-х евровые Кабернеты на дух теперь не переношу.

with this i have to agree. i have a stomach problem, "povyshennay kislotnost'" so I cannot really do more than one glass of red wine, but the worth is when it is that horrible, cheap, and "kisliy" wine :( that makes my stomach go crazy. Lately started getting white wine, especially considering that I am not a big "red meat" person, it works with fish or chicken stuff I make. also it seems it has less acid to me -- i am not sure though. please share your info, opinion and comments about white wine, please.
nemets --- that "hamon" is spanish smocked ham, right? i've heard that they make the best ones in Andalusia or somewhere there.

Белое или красное- разницы нет. И красное и бело могут быть и хорошими и плохими. Кислотность в винах появляется из отчасти эфирных масел, которые выделяются из косточек при их раздавливании. В промышленном производстве тяжело добиться невыделения ненужных продуктов в вино.
Про Хамон я писал у себя в ЖЖ. Лучший - это из Иберии

Frantsuzy delyat vina na tri kategorii: krasnoe, beloe i rozovoye (rosee)... V krasnom vine mnogo energii - poetomu yego chasto rekomenduyut bol'nim i oslablennim lyudyam... Beloe vino, kak uje bylo skazano vyshe, horosho idet s ryboy i belym myasom... Rosee schitayetsya desertnim, no mne ono opredelenno ne nravitsya... Mojet s neprivychki...
Samoe sil'noe vino, kot. mne dovelos' otvedat' eto gruzinskaya "Hvanchkara" kakogo-to elitnogo rozliva...
Dlya lyubiteley i neznatokov vina mogu dat' odin sovet... yesli Vy glotnuli vina i Vam ne hochetsya yego nemedlenno proglotit', bolee togo, ono ostavlyayet vo rtu priyatniy vkus - to eto vino horoshee...

Его родители живут в той самой Хванчкаре и он привёз это вино в большом пластиковом герметичном пакете с краником. Попробовав его, я понял, что Хванчкара в магазинах - фуфло, как и большинство других грузинских вин. Хванчкары много быть не может и соответсвенно нарваться на настоящую- это удача большая.
У моей жены есть подружка - красавица полячка, и как -то я, когда мы только встречались, угостил их всего по одному бокалу(150 мл) обоих за хорошим ужином, которое я приготовил. Вино пилось как сок- легко, но девчонок так разнесло, что их можно было брать руками "тёпленькими". Как мы тогда не нагрешили, сам удивляюсь. :lol:

Kaliforniyskoe vino kto nibud' pil? iz Napa valley. Kak ya znayu eto vino vigralo u Franzuskih vin zvanie na samoe luchshee vino v mire. Provodilas' degustaciya vo Francii, goda 2-3 nazad.
Mne nravitsya Shabli Shato (ne nayu kak pravil'no pishetsya) kotoriy ya poproboval v samoi vinodel'ne na na visote 1500 metrov. Jaleyu chto ne privez s soboi pobol'she.
A voobshe . . . lyublyu vino, kotoroe delaet otec. Uchitivaya chto ono ne kreplennoe, bashnyu mne ot ne srivaet bistro :)

I would like to share my experience if you do not mind
This topic rather interesting who thinks its beneficial in his daily life or it depends on his own lifestyle. Anyway
There about 1000 verities of wine grapes in worldwide and out of this there are more than 300 types wines
To make easier to understand the classification of wines we can divide them mainly into 3 categories:
1. Table wines. Its also called natural wines and its consumed mostly food and good match for specific meal ( example: Chatou latour, Kendel Jackson chardoney)
2. Fortified wines. These type of wines are mostly consumed before or after the food and for cooking ( example: Sherrys , Vermouth “ cinzano, martini” and its perfect match for cocktails such as Dry martini, Vodka Martini
3. Sparkling wines. Champagnes and Bruts these type of wines are recommended festivals, birthdays and parties Note: Champagne means the wine from Champagne region in France
Table wines are further classified by color, as red, white, or rose (pink); and by character, as sweet or dry. Red wines are made from the skins of dark grapes. White wines may be
made from “white” (that is, green) grapes or from dark grapes, but with white wine the grape skins and pressed juice do not come into contact unlike” red” wine. True rose
wines are the products of dark grapes; their skins remain in contact with the juice only until it has turned into a pale pink.
There is one more wine we call it “Rose wine”, this is accepted as “wine of the night”
Despite there are traditional wines such Greek “OZZO”, Japanese “SAKEY” and etc.

"Khvanchkara" and "Kindzmarauli" are the favourite ones, both semi-sweet and are available in our local market :).
All I drink is wine actually, very rarely any other kind of alcohol.
Those red wines are good with any meat meal(steaks, kebabs and so on).
Don't know about white wine much, coz not a big favourite of it,but sometimes drink White Zi (Zinfandel) coz of a semi sweet flavour.Maybe post more later.
Ponyatno chto u vina kak i u shampanskogo est svoi cenovie kategoriyi: kto-to pyet sovetskoe polusladkoe, a kto-to iskluchitelno Moët & Chandon.
Kstaty - nemets mestnost Stuttgartskaya, gde ti projivaesh toje ved bogata na vina (belie) - nu i kak oni tam?
Iz togo chto ya probovala v rayone Rhein-Hessen ochen ponravilos - yagodnoe - Beerenauslese, pokupala ego v chastnom vinnom pogrebe...

I always wanted to drink the Wine which was produced in between 14th and 18th centuries...But this have not happened yet(it will)...Have you guys tried such a Wine?If yes what year was Wine produced?By which family?What kind of flavor?Did it taste different?

Those red wines are good with any meat meal(steaks, kebabs and so on).
Don't know about white wine much, coz not a big favourite of it,but sometimes drink White Zi (Zinfandel) coz of a semi sweet flavour.Maybe post more later.

white meat - white wine, red meat - red wine :D
about hazzard of wine: university of columbia or smth after years of research found that people having upto 2 glasses of wine a day showed healthier heart than those who had other alcoholic beverages and even than those who had nothing! :D
i read it in some article sometime ago, unfortunately that article said nothing about it's effect on liver, stomach and other parts of mail/femail/email body :D
me likes dry wines, sweet wines no good. however me greately enjoyed this wine-tasting of Massandra Wine Company in Crimea this summer (дегустационный зал завода Массандра) where the guide-lady told many interesting things about wine with poems between sessions from some famous and not-so-famous Persian poets . Great stuff! :D
unfortunately all massandra wines were sweet, like Port, Heres, Madera, Cagor, etc.

I've done some consultancy work for a new wine company just recently had to do loads of tasting and I've noticed that Argentinian wines are doing very well. However,my favorite is still Pinot Noir.

I like Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio, and Riesling.
I do not really like Chardonnay.
With red wines I prefer Pinot Noir.
I like Californian wine as well. I enjoy the wines of Ernest & Julio Gallo.
When it comes to champagne I like Veuve Clicquot and Louis Roederer Cristal.
I want to learn more about wine, I am still of a beginner.

I have always wondered, how come Uzbekistan doesn't produce quality wines that could get into Western market. I've seen some amazing vineyards back at home,yet no production.
Kazakhstan produces Snow Queen Vodka, that has taken UK market by storm and it's challenging Grey Goose and Belvedere. No offence,but Kazakh people tend to be a bit lazy comparing to other Central Asian nations,yet they succeed in whatever they lay their hands on.
And finally on champagne, Veuve has fallen into the worst category last week when we held a blind tasting among 30 other champagnes. Top tree were DP,DP Rose and Tattinger.
