Today I've taken an open learning session and I was astonished by this person.

Dr. Mehmet Oz is Vice-Chair and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital. His research interests include heart replacement surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, complementary medicine, and health care policy. He has authored over 400 original publications, book chapters, and medical books and has received several patents. He performs over 350 heart operations annually.

Dr. Oz was born June 11, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio and received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University (1982) and obtained a joint MD and MBA (1986) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Wharton Business School. He was awarded the Captain’s Athletic Award for leadership in college and was Class President followed by President of the Student Body during medical school. He lives in Cliffside Park, NJ with his wife Lisa of 19 years and their 4 children, Daphne, Arabella, Zoe, and Oliver.

(incredible background).

I wish I could get the actual videocast here. It was so refreshing and inspiring. He is one of greatest presenters I've ever seen, with great sense of humor.

with this background, this is the person whose book "You are on Diet" I would trust when choosing the right diet.
It's amazing he could handle finishing both MBA and MD. That already tells so much about him.

yeah, she is not 19, that is for sure. she was in oprah's show. she is pretty and quite well kept for a woman w/4 kids.

i have 2 books by oz and his colleague. those are not "diet" books, they won't guarantee that you'll lose 20lb in 2 weeks :D. those are actually good books to understand what is healthy eating is about. they give a thorough information about digestion, muscles, etc. they also have nice recipes and list of "low-calorie, low-acid" items.

Tokugawa, he is quite big here, in US. Every women's health magazine refers to Oz when talking about food and diet. You can see "how to save your own heart" article ripped off some magazine on my refrigerator :), quite a good advice given by dr.Oz.
