Hi there,
1. are stereotypes good or evil (or maybe both) and why?
2. does it help to have a stereotype in mind or it's a great setback while dealing with people?
Some peolpe have embedded stereotypes that Germans are strict and law-abiding, Italians are noisy, Americans are stupid, Swedes are frozen, Russians are straight-forward, etc. (not all of them are shared by me).
My personal experience... Stereotypes are quite handy to me when I meet people for the first time. I just ask their country of origin and try my ready-made cliche on them. It helps me understand why people behave as they do and why people think as they do... Thus, I dont have cultural clash with them.
