New wave of jewelry attacks

I am not a person who fancies gossip, but I guess I should let people know that apparently there is a new wave of attacks on women wearing jewelry. Remember, back in 90s people would pull earrings off women’s ears and run away? So, according to an in-country and extremely reliable source, there is a new wave of those attacks: more and more women in Tashkent are being targeted by thieves who pull jewelry off their victims ears and necks, ripping their ears and badly hurting their necks.

The reason I am letting people know that is that the source of the info strongly recommended me to tell my female relatives and friends not to wear extravagant jewelry or even accessories, thus preventing possible attacks. I figured you people might want to know that, too.

And not only jewelry. A girl from my ex-workplace in Tashkent was hit by guys who stole her cell and she is now with brues on her face. :( Why do they hit? Btw, it was a daytime incident and in public place (subway exit).. Same as you, I called home asking my sister take off her jewelry. Its scary.
