Good thread.
I possess 19 out of 25 skills. :D
On top of CPR, I think a man should also be familiar with basics of trauma treatment: bleeding, broken bone(s), poisoning, shock, etc.
EDIT: Oh, and of course every man should know how to fight, and embrace violence when needed. Without being able to protect yourself, and your loved ones, all these skills are secondary.

I can say that I have more than 50% of the skills. I can add:
1- A man should know how to change a tire.
2- You should know how to slaughter a sheep, peel off its skin and how to clean it right.

You are right...it is a very basic skill. But as it shows Prince knew how to do it, but he wasn't so confident. He wanted some help, when he couldn't get it he had no choice but do it himself.

to patch the hole in radiator hose you may use just bolt/lug small diameter with washer inside and another flat washer over lock washer from outside and nut..use to deferent wrenches to tight them together, rubber hose between two washers would tight to hold the water/antifreeze pressure when engine start running.
(this idea came just a moment ago)
patching this way of the radiator hose in above picture is not that safe,
i do not think that will hold a water pressure when water gets hot and under heavy pressure.
