Hi! are there any uzbeks or not uzbeks who is doing ACCA in the UK? I am sure there are. I just recieved my registration pak with exemptions for first 3 papers, so I am starting from F4. I am looking for place where to study. According my researchs BPP and Kaplan are appropriate but expensive others cheaper but I have no idea if I could pass my exams with them.
I really need good advice. Thank you!

I wanted to study for acca aswell but decided to leave it for a year. I read about this schools on rupoint.co.uk. It is very good forum with lots of info.

I found lots of colleges but as far as i know ,"If you really want to study", this two colleges are the best choice. Teaching quality is much better comparing to others. In open days , i was really impresses with BPP. Kaplan was good aswell but looked a little bit unprofessional.

FTC is the best and cheaper than BPP. Ј400 per paper, its not too bad!

Why don't you do MSc in Accounting and get a work permit within a year? ...ACCA is really hard! You can only take 3 papers at the time and all this 3 papers are super hard! it will take you forever to finish it...

No.. I just looked through prices again.. I can not afford it without getting schoolarship.. Its too expensive for overseas students. I have 10 years for doing my ACCA thats the advantage isnt it? I have my time..
Hamid, what is new from HSMP information did you find any solution?

Hi there! It's true that u can get a work permit for 1 year upon completion of your BA, BSc, MA, MSc according to the recent immigration law changes. But this rule doesn't work retrospectively, i.e. it applies to graduates that completed their degrees after this law came to power.
So you don't have to have any doubt that someone can or cannot get work permit, provided they are eligible for it.

I study in BPP and think it's a decent school to study accounting. They are expensive, but hey, they are 30 years in financial training and teaching. And also their study materials, classes, and technology are very good. Almost all colleges in UK use BPP published books for ACCA in CIMA.

As an international student it is mandatory to take 3 papers in one go for visa purposes, though some of my indian classmates took up to 4 papers in one go and passed all 4 papers in last June exam sitting. (maximum of 4 papers u can take in any 6 months, limitation by ACCA body)

"...all this 3 papers are super hard!" I agree they are super hard! :(

Full-time studying and full-time working will be extremely difficult.

Bpp charges £800+ for each paper + exam fees if you r taking 4 papers its 3800 for 6 months and if you r fail in any of papers you have to pay full amount again. In this case MCs in accounts look more reasonable..
Dont you agree Eastender?

Go to the above link and check the prices for level 2 ACCA , £570 per paper, if you go to an open day and enrol there u can get 10% discount,
meaning if you take 3 papers in June 08 sitting and next 3 papers in December 08 sitting, 6 papers in total a year, not bad, it'll cost you £570x6 = £3420 - 10% = £3078.
If you intend to sit exams in June 2008, you must register with ACCA by 31 December 2007, do not forget.

And any university degree course in UK, AFAIK costs min £ 8100 and MSc probably even more.

That link above, u have to type all together, it's just I'm not allowed to post links here.

TRY LONDON COLLEGE OF ACCOUNTANCY (www_londoncollege_org) it is among only the three premium plus ACCA tuition providers in London (others being BPP and Kaplan) and it is cheaper than those two. I studied there papers 1.1, 1.2 and 2.1 and passed all of them. Very nice school, great teachers.

i would agree with doing MSc in Accounting; IT IS much easier to get a Masters Degree rather than finishing your ACCA. I am telling you from my own experience...

Two of my friends have graduated from UK unis this year and have recently got their work visas for one year.

Good luck!

Did you hear about new ACCA qualifications?

Dear Student

With the introduction of the new ACCA qualification, all ACCA trainees (students and affiliates) are now required to make an annual practical experience requirement (PER) return to ACCA, confirming their progress towards achieving the PER.
You are encouraged to make your 2007 annual PER return to ACCA by the end of January. This will enable your progress towards achieving the PER to be reflected in your February Examination Results and Status Report. However, you will still be able to make your 2007 annual PER return to ACCA up to 31 March 2008. If you are unable to make a return for 2007 by 31 March 2008 you will still be able to include all of the experience you have achieved to date when making your 2008 PER annual return. This will be available for online submission from 1 April 2008. Going forward, you should ensure that you make at least one PER return to ACCA in each calendar year.
Top ten questions and answers

To help you with any questions you may have about PER we have published the answers to the ten most frequently asked questions on the ACCA website. Please take the time to read these and visit the resources available on the website.

Does everyone of you who do the ACCA are working in accounts environment??

ACCA is much better than BSc or MSc in Accounting, most employers are looking for people with ACCA or CIMA qualifications. Its hard but well worth it! Even after completing ACCA part 2 you can get a Work Permit.

I don't know, you need to be really really focused and take your studies seriously otherwise it will take you forver to complete ACCA.

Go for MSc girl, get a work permit --> British Passport--> And chill. I couldn't go for MSc cause I diidn't have BSc, but if you have one, don't waste your time.

I am doing F4 (the hardest from the three), F6 (much easier) and F7 (haven't even read it completely, will practice after first two exams)
AS for opentuition they are very good in explaining things in plain language that is digestable at least (tried on F6)
but if you want a real practice for the exams you need official texts. I am using BPP's.
