Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self) and jihad al-Shaytaan (jihad against the Shaytaan) are obligatory upon everyone who is accountable.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Once this is understood, then jihad is of four kinds: Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self), jihad al-Shaytaan (jihad against the Shaytaan), jihad against the kaafirs and jihad against the hypocrites.

Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self) is of four kinds:

1 – Striving to learn the teachings of Islam without which one cannot attain success and happiness in this world or in the Hereafter; if this is missing then one is doomed to misery in this world and in the Hereafter.

2 – Striving to make oneself act in accordance with what one has learned. Simply knowing without acting, even though it may not cause any harm, is not going to bring any benefit.

3 – Striving to call others to Islam, teaching those who do not know about it. Otherwise one will be one of those who conceal that which Allaah has revealed of guidance and teaching, and it will not benefit him or save him from the punishment of Allaah.

4 – Striving to bear patiently the difficulties involved in calling people to Allaah and the insults of people; bearing all that for the sake of Allaah.

If a person achieves all these four levels, then he will be one of the rabbaaniyyeen (learned men of religion who practise what they know and also preach to others. Cf. Aal ‘Imraan 3:79). The salaf were agreed that the scholar does not deserve to be called a rabbaani unless he knows the truth, acts in accordance with it and teaches it to others. Whoever teaches, acts in accordance with his knowledge and has knowledge, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jihad against the Shaytaan is of two types:

1 – Warding off the doubts that he stirs up to undermine faith.

2 – Striving against him to ward off the corrupt desires that he provokes.

The first jihad is followed by certainty of faith, and the second is followed by patience. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)”

[al-Sajdah 32:24]

Allaah tells us that leadership in religion is attained through patience and certainty of faith. Patience wards off desires and certainty wards off doubts.

Jihad against the kaafirs and hypocrites is of four kinds: with the heart, the tongue, one’s wealth and oneself. Jihad against the kaafirs is more along the lines of physical fighting whereas jihad against the hypocrites is more along the lines of using words and ideas.

Jihad against the leaders of oppression and innovation is of three kinds:

1 – Jihad with one's hand (i.e., physical jihad, fighting) if one is able. If that is not possible then it should be with one's tongue (i.e., by speaking out). If that is not possible then it should be with one's heart (i.e., by hating the evil and feeling that it is wrong).

These are the thirteen types of jihad, and “Whoever dies without having fought or having resolved to fight has died following one of the branches of hypocrisy.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1910).

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Jihad is of various kinds, with one’s self, one's wealth, by making du’aa’, by teaching and guiding, by helping to do good in any way. The greatest form of jihad is jihad with one’s self (i.e., going oneself and fighting), followed by jihad with one's wealth, jihad by speaking out and guiding others. Da’wah is also part of jihad. But going out oneself to fight in jihad is the highest form.

Shuni bilingki, ey Musulmon, Alloh sizu bizni to'g'ri yolga boshlasin, Nafsga qarshi kurashlik quyidagi 4ta yo'l orqali boladi

1. Nafsni doimo hisobga tutish
2. Nafsni qaytarish, nafsni shahvatlari, xohlaganlariga qarshi turish.
3. Nafsni Allohga boysunishda sabrli qilishlik
4. Nafsni Allohning harom qilgan narsalaridan yiroq bolishlikda ham sabrli qilishlik


1. Nafsni doimo hisobga tutish
Nafsning buzilishiga sabablardan biri bu nafsni hisobga tutmaslikdir. Allohning bandalari ichida juda kamchilikdagilari o'zlarining nafslarini hisobga tutadilar.
Har bir inson har bir aytgan gapida yoki qilgan harakatida uzidan shunday savollarni so’rashligi kerak:
"Men bu so'zim bilan nimani nazarda tutdim? Men Allohga da’vat qilganimda niyatim qanday edi? Aytganlarim, harakatim xolis Alloh uchunmi?
Allohning Yuzini istab qildimmi? yoki men bu dunyodan biror narsa istab qildimmi? Niyatim nima edi o'zi? Namozni qanday o'qidim? Zakotni kim uchun berdim? Kim uchun ro'za tutdim? Xo'ja kursin uchunmi yoki Alloh uchun?
Men nimaga umid qildim? Men faqatgina Allohdan ajr, savob, mukofot umid qildimmi? yoki biror bandaning mukofotini olish umididamanmi?
Qilgan amalim Quronu sahih sunnatga mosmi? bidat, shirk aralashmaganmi?”
“Men bu harfni, so'zni , gapni aytganimda niyatim qanday edi? Nima uchun ovqat yedim? Nima uchun suv ichdim?... ” va h.k.

Aqlli inson qanday inson ekanligini bilasizmi?
Aqlli inson shunday insonki u doimo o'zining nafsini hisobga tutadi va o'limdan keyin keladigan narsalarga o'zini tayyorlaydi. O'limdan keyin nima keladi??


O'limdan keyin qabrga boriladi... qabr bu Qiyomatga birinchi qadam.. qabrda ham so’roq qilinadi.
O'limdan keyin mukofot yoki jazo keladi.
O'limdan keyin Tarozi va Sirot ko'prigi keladi
va nihoyat oxirgi manzil Jannat yoki Do'zax bo'ladi.


O'zimizdan so'raylik:” O'limdan keladigan narsalarga NIMA tayyorladik?? O'limga tayyormizmi? Qiyomatga tayyormizmi? Amal daftarlarimiz hisobga tutishilishiga tayyormizmi? Alloh bilan uchrashishga tayyormizmi?”
Ba'zilar "Alloh meni kechiradi" deb farz amallarini qilishmaydi, gunoh ishlarini qilishadi.

Axir yaxshi, solih amallarsiz QANDAY qilib inson jannatga kira oladi?
Faqatgina UMID qilib hech bir amal qilmasa va Jannatga kiraman deb o'tirsa qo'pol qilib aytadigan bolsak u inson chuchvarani xom sanabdi
Umar bin Xattob radiallahu anhu aytgan ekanlarki,ma’nosi:
"Hisobga tutilmasliklaringizdan oldin nafslaringizni o'zlaring hisobga tutinglar. Amallaringizni hali Qiyomatda taroziga qo'yilmasidan oldin o'zlaringiz hozir o'lchanglar. Chunki bunday qilinsa ertaga keladigan hisob oson boladi"

Qancha qancha nafslar o'z egalarini qorong’ulikka, yomon yo’llarga chorlaydi.Nafslari egalari ustiga boshliq bo’lib olgan.

Haqiqiy solih mo’min esa o'z nafsiga boshliqlik qiladi. Nafsini doimo so'roq qiladi.
O'zini doimo:”Qiyomatda hozir Alloh oldida tursam tayyormanmi? Nafsim meni Jannatga yaqin qiladigan amallarga chorlayaptimi yoki Dozaxga yaqin qiladigan amallarga? Har bir qilgan qadamim men uchun oxiratda foyda beradimi yoki zarar beradimi?” deya Alloh uchun o’zini so’roq qiladi va natijada xolislik bilan nafsini to'grilashga harakat qiladi. Nafsiga o'zi boshliq bo'ladi.

Nafsni hisobga tutishda biror amalni qilishdan OLDIN va u amalni qilgandan KEYIN hisobga tutilishi kerak.

Biror amal qilishidan oldin o'zidan shahvat va hissiyotlarni chetga qo'yib "Men uchun bu qiladigan amalim yaxshimi? Alloh menga bu amal uchun mukofot beradimi? yoki bu amal gunoh amalimi?" deya so'roq qiladi.

Agar amali haqiqatan yaxshi bo'lsa, foydali bo'lsa Quron va sahih sunnatga qarshi bolmasa,u holda keyin yana so'raydi o'zidan "Men bu amalni Alloh uchun qilyapmanmi? yoki riyo uchun? odamlar maqtashlari uchunmi?"
Shuning uchun ham Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
”Kimki Allohga va Qiyomatga iymon keltirsa yaxshi so'z so'zlasin yoki sukut saqlasin"

degan manoda aytganlar. Sahih Buxoriy va Muslim.

Agar AMAL yaxshi bo'lsa, to'g'ri bo'lsa va niyat xolis Alloh uchun bo'lsa u holda u amalni qilish yaxshi.
Agar Amal yaxshi bo'lsayu, ammo niyat yomon bo'lsa unda amalni qilishdan oldin niyatni to'g'rilash kerak boladi.
Agar amal yomon bolsa u holda u amalni qilmaydi.

Amalni qilib bo'lgandan keyin ham solih banda o'zidan so'raydi:
"Alloh uchun qildimmi? Muhammad sallallahu alayhi va sallamning sunnnatlariga ko’ra qildimmi? Birorta kamchilik bo'lmadimi?Biror xato bo'lmadimi"

Mana shu savollar orqali banda agar xato qilgan bo'lsa xatolarini darrov tavba qilib to’g’rilaydi.

Agar bunday qilmasa, masalan, 60 yoshga borganida, o'lim to'shagida yotganida juda kech bo'ladi, chunki gunohlar tavba qilinmasa esdan chiqadi va daryo kabi bo’lib qoladi.

Solih bo'lib o'tgan insonlar(Salafus Solihlar) o'zlari uchun ayniqsa kechaning oxirgi qismida nafslarini hisobga tutish uchun vaqt ajratishar ekan.

Birinchi navbatda qilgan farz amallarini hisobga tutar ekan. Agar biror farz amallarida xato bo'lsa tavba qilib to'g'rilab quyar ekanlar.

Keyin esa o'zini harom narsalardan saqlandimi yoqmi shuni hisobga tutar ekan.
Keyin esa e'tiborsizlikda bo’lganmi yo’qmi shuni hisobga tutar ekan, ya'ni biror qilgan amalida Alloh uchun qilayotganligi esidan chiqdimi yo’qmi shuni hisobga tutar ekan.

Keyin esa kunduz kuni aytgan barcha gaplarini hisobga tutar ekan.
Keyin esa borgan joylarini, qo’llarini nimaga ishlatganlarini, ko’zlari bilan nima ko’rganlarini, quloqlari bilan nima eshitganlarini va h.klarni hisobga tutar ekan.
Shunday qilishganda barcha harakatlari faqatgina Allohning roziligi uchun qilinganmi yo’qligini bilib olib shunga yarasha o'zlarini to'g’rilashar ekanlar.

Nafsni hisobga tutishning bir necha foydalari bor:
a) Kamchiliklarni hamda nafsning qayerda va nimada kuchsiz ekanligini tanishlik.
Agar banda nafsini qayerda va nimada kuchsiz ekanligini bilmasa u nafsga qarshi kurasha olmaydi.
Salaflar ya’ni solih bo’lib utganlar, sahobiylar, tobeinlar shunchalik kamtarin bo'lishganki bazilar aytishgan "Men 100 ta yaxshi amallar xislatini bilaman ammo ularning birortasi menda borligini bilmadim"
Bazi sahobiylar Muhammad sallallahu alayhi va sallamdan Jannatga borishlari haqida bashorat qilingan bolsalarda, Paygambarimiz sirlarini aytgan Huzayfa radiallahu anhudan "Muhammad sallallahu alayhi va sallam senga kimlar munofiq ekanliklarini aytganlarida , tog'risini ayt bizlarni nomimiz ularning(munofiqlarning) ichida bormidi yoki y’oqmidi"
deb so’rar ekanlar.

b) Allohning bandalaridagi haqqini tanishlik. Banda o'z nafsini doimo so'roq qilsa, nafsi Allohning bandalaridagi haqlarini taniydi. Nafsini mana shu haqni bajarishga doimo qistaydi. Qilgan amallarini shirkdan, bid’at va riyodan tozalaydi.
Allohning bandalaridagi haqni tanigandan so'ng u insonnning Allohga bo’ysunish darvozasi ochiladi.
Ba'zilar o'zlariga biror tushkunlik, yomon holat yuz berganda Allohni bahona qilib, Alloh bizlarga shunday qildi va h.k deya nola qilishadi, AMMO o'zlaridan sorashmaydiki "Nia uchun unaqa tushkunlikka tushishdi, nima uchun u yomon narsa yuz berdi?.
Undayinsonlar bilishmaydiki,ularning gunohlari va Allohga bolgan osiyliklari sabab shunday bo’moqda.
Ba’zi insonlarning qalbi esa, umuman Allohni bilishni istamaydi, Allohni tanishni istamaydi.
