1) Tenderloin or T-Bone Steak (medium cooked) served with steamed vegetables and/or rosemary potatoes! I'll never forget the Argentinian steakhouse in Frankfurt (it was a long time ago). Till this day, I haven't tried steak which tops theirs.

2) Buffalo wings (extra hot and extra crispy) is my second favorite. Last time I tried these was at the TGI Friday's in downtown Kuala Lumpur, and it was one of the highlights of our vacation.

3) BBQ cooked salmon. You take a salmon fillet and put on a special fire proof piece of wood and cook it slowly, while squeezing fresh lemon on top of it every couple of minutes. Pure heaven.

This thread just reminded me how much I want to get me a BBQ grill.

TR, how are you surviving in Uzbekistan? I like medium cooked steak, but where you get anything like that in Tash? If you ask someone not to over cook a piece of meat, they say that you might have some problems. worst case scenarios somebody asks you if you have "glesty" :lol::lol:

Though I want to say that I enjoy the food at TGI, especially the tomato basil soup. Yum...

i do not recall saying that I like "well-done" steak. I just said that for someone who likes steak, it must be difficult in Uzb. as there when you ask for medium, or medium-rare cooked meat, people question your sanity. :) cause for some people meat needs to be cooked for a while before you can actually eat it.

There is one place in Tashkent where they serve a decent steak - "Bistro" restaurant. I'd say its my favorite restaurant here, not only because of steaks they serve, but also of overall atmosphere and quality of food. Next time you're in Tashkent I suggest you visit the place (If you haven't been there yet).

Studentin: I don't remember the name, but it was in downtown Frankfurt. The place was a small modern looking venue, and steaks were huge.
